    Abstract: A rebound-type hardness tester comprises a tubular member and an indenter hammer for undergoing axial movement therein in forward and rearward directions and for impacting a specimen and rebounding therefrom. A first detecting device detects the indenter hammer during movement thereof in the forward and rearward directions. A second detecting device detects the indenter hammer after detection thereof by the first detection device during movement of the indenter hammer in the forward direction, and detects the indenter hammer before detection thereof by the first detection device during movement of the indenter hammer in the rearward direction. A measuring device measures first and second timing values corresponding to different times elapsed from the detection of the indenter hammer by the first and second detection devices.

    Abstract: A method of manufacturing a plasma display panel, which comprises the steps of filling a barrier rib-forming paste containing glass frit in a barrier ribs-forming intaglio and concurrently forming a paste layer having a constant thickness on the intaglio, superimposing a substrate on the barrier ribs-forming intaglio filled with the barrier rib-forming paste containing glass frit to thereby transfer the barrier rib-forming paste onto the substrate, and heating the barrier rib-forming paste that has been transferred to the substrate, thereby burning out existing organic components and concurrently sintering the glass frit to thereby form the barrier ribs and dielectric layer. The plasma display panel manufactured by this method is featured in that the barrier ribs and the dielectric layer are formed using the same barrier rib-forming material containing a low melting point glass frit.

    Abstract: A CCD microscope includes: two polarized light illumination systems for irradiating polarized lights having vibrating directions in perpendicular to each other selectively to an object to be observed, and an analyser disposed on an optical path from the object to a CCD device for picking-up an image of the object, the analyser having a vibrating direction in parallel with the vibrating direction of the polarized light from one polarized light illumination system, and in perpendicular to the vibrating direction of the polarized light from the other polarized light illumination system. The surface state of the object is picked-up by a polarized light of one polarized light illumination system that is kept unchanged for the polarized state upon reflection on the surface, while the inner state of the object is picked-up by a polarized light of the other polarized light illumination system that is changed for the polarized state.
