  • Patent number: 4544966
Abstract: A control signal recording and reproducing system for exactly tracking a record track in a helical scan type VTR or the like is disclosed.Intermittent pilot signals are recorded with the frequency spectra thereof being interleaved between adjacent tracks. In a reproducing operation, the main track pilot signals and the adjacent track pilot signals are separated by a comb type filter, and using a time position of the main pilot signals as a reference, the adjacent track pilot signals are separated in time to the front adjacent track pilot signal and the rear adjacent track pilot signal to detect the direction of a tracking error.

  • Patent number: 4541641
Abstract: A seal member and tolerance compensator which includes a body portion, an integral leg portion, and several deformable locator and sealing extensions. The leg portion is received in a compressed manner between two adjacent components of a pivotally connected assembly which have axial tolerances. At least one of the surfaces of the leg portion is provided with grooves and projections such that when the projections are compressed between adjacent components by relative motion within the assembly or tolerances within the assembly, the elastic material of the protrusions will flex into the surrounding grooves.

  • Patent number: 4500959
Abstract: In a data processing system having an instruction buffer, inconsistency between an instruction stored in a main memory and the same instruction present in the instruction buffer occurs at the time of a store operation to the memory if the instruction supplied to the store area of the main memory previously has been prefetched to and is present in the instruction buffer.

  • Patent number: 4408275
Abstract: A data processing system is disclosed in which it is detected whether or not data to be read out from a buffer memory with a single access are spread over a plurality of blocks, which are used as the unit for storing data in the buffer memory, and, when the presence of block cross is detected, addresses of blocks including a desired operand are generated as addresses in banks making up the buffer memory, whereby the operand is read out from adjacent blocks by a single read-out operation.

  • Patent number: 4390906
Abstract: A two speed or multi-speed video tape recorder of the conventional helical scan type in which the audio signal is capable of being recorded as a time compressed signal at one end of each helical video scan, or alternatively, in conventional longitudinal fashion by means of a stationary magnetic head engaging one edge of the tape.At low tape transport speeds, improved bandwidth (and therefore sound fidelity) is obtained by use of the time compression technique; while at higher transport speeds, there are advantages in utilizing the stationary audio head.Circuitry is provided to automatically utilize the time compression technique at lower tape transport speeds and the stationary head longitudinal recording technique at higher tape transport speeds.

  • Patent number: 4251859
Abstract: A data processing system, for executing each instruction, by carrying out a plurality of successive partial processing operations, begins to process the first partial processing operation of an instruction succeeding a defeat overlap instruction before execution of the defeat overlap instruction is finished in response to the detection that a predetermined number of machine cycles is further required for the complete execution of the defeat overlap instruction.

  • Patent number: 4197578
Abstract: A circuit outputs different subsidiary address data depending on operand address data contained within operand designation fields and operation codes of system instructions. A control storage, which stores microinstructions, is accessed for the initial microinstructions, contained within microinstruction sequences for system instructions, at storage locations specified by the operation codes and the subsidiary address data. As a result, different microinstruction sequences for system instructions with the same operation code can be initiated depending on the operand address data, without using any microinstructions for testing the operand address data.

  • Patent number: 4191978
Abstract: A method for positioning a composite head comprising a control head and an audio head in a rotary head type magnetic video recording and reproducing apparatus at a precise spacing relative to a mounting position of the rotary head is disclosed. A video signal is recorded intermittently for each group of a predetermined number of video tracks on a reference tape and an audio signal is also recorded intermittently in association with the intermittently recorded video signal. The composite head is adjusted and positioned such that the intermittent relationship existing between a reproduced video signal and a reproduced audio signal is the same as the intermittent relationship existing between the video signal and audio signal during recording.

  • Patent number: 4122506
Abstract: A magnetic tape feeding apparatus for a magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus having a guide drum with a magnetic tape partially wrapped around the drum having therein one or more magnetic heads. A pair of first guide posts inclined at a predetermined angle with respect to the datum plane, a pair of second posts perpendicular to the datum plane and the drum are arranged in a manner such that the tape travels without any twisting action and the longitudinal center line of the tape in the vicinities of the tape supply and take-up reels lies in a plane parallel with the datum plane.
