  • Publication number: 20070250310
Abstract: There is disclosed an audio encoding device capable of realizing effective encoding while using audio encoding of the CELP method in an extended layer when hierarchically encoding an audio signal. In this device, a first encoding section (115) subjects an input signal (S11) to audio encoding processing of the CELP method and outputs the obtained first encoded information (S12) to a parameter decoding section (120). The parameter decoding section (120) acquires a first quantization LSP code (L1), a first adaptive excitation lag code (A1), and the like from the first encoded information (S12), obtains a first parameter group (S13) from these codes, and outputs it to a second encoding section (130). The second encoding section (130) subjects the input signal (S11) to a second encoding processing by using the first parameter group (S13) and obtains second encoded information (S14).

  • Publication number: 20070179780
Abstract: A voice and musical tone coding apparatus is provided that can perform high-quality coding by executing vector quantization taking the characteristics of human hearing into consideration. In this voice and musical tone coding apparatus, a quadrature transformation processing section (201) converts a voice and musical tone signal from time components to frequency components. An auditory masking characteristic value calculation section (203) finds an auditory masking characteristic value from a voice and musical tone signal. A vector quantization section (202) performs vector quantization changing a calculation method of a distance between a code vector found from a preset codebook and a frequency component based on an auditory masking characteristic value.

  • Publication number: 20070136051
Abstract: An apparatus sets a pitch cycle search object in pitch cycle search processing for searching for a pitch cycle included in a linear predictive residual on a per subframe basis. A pitch cycle indicator of the apparatus sequentially output spitch cycle candidates within a predetermined pitch cycle search range at integral accuracy. A memory stores an integral component of a pitch cycle selected in pitch cycle search processing of a previous subframe. An adaptive sound source vector generator sets, as the pitch cycle search object in pitch cycle search processing in a processing subframe section, a group of candidates comprising a group of integral-accuracy pitch cycle candidates output from the pitch cycle indicator and a group of fractional-accuracy pitch cycle search candidates that cover a pitch cycle near an integral component of the pitch cycle read from the previous subframe integral pitch cycle memory using fractional accuracy.

  • Patent number: 7177802
Abstract: An Adaptive Sound Source Vector Generator (ASSVG) 103 sets preceding and succeeding pitch cycles centered on an integral-accuracy pitch cycle T0 selected in the previous subframe as a range for searching for a fractional-accuracy pitch frequency, and extracts an adaptive sound source vector P(T-frac) that has fractional-accuracy pitch cycle T-frac within this range from an Adaptive Code Book (ACB) 102. A Last Sub Frame Integral Pitch Cycle Storage (LSFIPCS) 108 stores integral component T0 of the optimal pitch cycle selected by a Distortion Comparator (DC) 107, and when a pitch cycle of the next subframe is searched for, outputs this optimal pitch cycle integral component T0 to the Adaptive Sound Source Vector Generator (ASSVG) 103. An Optimal Pitch Cycle Accuracy Judge Section (OPCAJS) 109 judges whether the optimal pitch cycle is of integral accuracy or fractional accuracy.

  • Publication number: 20060256354
Abstract: There is provided an image forming system that automatically discharges paper sheets other than poorly fed ones without making an emergency stop, even when poor paper feeding is caused due to a paper jam or the like. At paper feeding, information showing poor paper feeding is transmitted when the poor paper feeding is detected in supplying the paper sheets. At image forming, a determination is made whether the paper conveyance in forming the image is continued or stopped when an instruction, based on the information showing the poor paper feeding. At paper discharging, a determination is made whether the paper conveyance in discharging the paper sheets is continued or stopped when an instruction, based on the information showing the defective conveyance.

  • Publication number: 20060256393
Abstract: At step S301, since none of conveyance sensors 114, 116 and 121 detect residual paper, a CPU 203 notifies a CPU 201 that it is in a residual paper check start instruction waiting mode. At step S302, since a conveying path sensor 111 in an optional paper feed unit 101 does not detect residual paper, the CPU 202 notifies the CPU 201 that it is in a residual paper check start instruction waiting mode. At step S303, since an inlet sensor 122 of an optional paper output unit 103 does not detect residual paper, the CPU 204 notifies the CPU 201 that it is in a residual paper check start instruction waiting mode. After confirming that all the units are in the waiting mode, the CPU 201 issues a residual paper check start instruction to all the units simultaneously to improve usability by reducing initializing time.
