  • Patent number: 5633673
Abstract: Disclosed is a recording system in which an operation performed on the side of a printer unit in order to change over recording density is delayed while a recording operation is in progress. When a recording density changeover command is received during a recording operation, the density changeover is performed after the recording operation ends. A control unit which controls the printer unit is informed of the fact that the measures for changing over the recording density have been completed on the printer unit side.

  • Patent number: 5516675
Abstract: Lactoperoxidase, secretory component and lactoferrin are separated in high purity from milk and related materials such as whey with a single cation exchange resin. After adsorption on the cation exchange resin, elution is carried out with an aqueous solution having an ionic strength and pH selected to elute each separately. Lactoperoxidase is eluted first, secretory component second and lactoferrin last. Each is obtained in a purity of about 80% or greater. The cation exchange resin can be a cross-linked polysaccharide, cellulose or an acrylamide resin having carboxyl, sulfonic acid or phosphoric acid functional groups which may be attached with a spacer. The separated lactoperoxidase, secretory component and lactoferrin are biologically active and can be used in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, foods, drinks and feeds.

  • Patent number: 5355080
Abstract: Probe pins are mounted on a housing in a manner which deflects the same and induces a preload therein. Upon the pins being brought into contact with a surface, the preload immediately increases the amount of contact pressure which is developed for a given amount of overdrive. In one embodiment the probe pin has both ends secured to the housing. A V-shaped portion is formed in the pin and used as the contact point. The manner in which the probe is secured, bends a portion of the pin proximate the contact point and produces a preload. As the other end is also secured, the preloading is augmented and contact point is prevented from undergoing lateral movement away from the housing on which it is secured.
