  • Publication number: 20030077085
Abstract: An engine control unit receives a print reservation command for plural pages prior to a print request command from a printer control unit. When the engine control unit received the print reservation command for the plural pages, it is judged whether or not a sheet feed operation of recording sheets can be performed. When it is judged that the recording sheets can be fed, the recording sheets are fed and transported to a predetermined position on a transportation path with a minimum constant interval corresponding to the sheet size by sheet feed rollers or transportation rollers, then printing operation is performed according to the print request command.

  • Patent number: 6540418
Abstract: Sheet ejecting apparatuses, which are connected to a recording apparatus, are selectively operated during the operation of the printer. When a sheet transported in a recording unit reaches a paper ejecting sensor, the recording unit outputs a predetermined signal to an image control unit. When the predetermined signal is inputted, the image control unit outputs a sheet ejection notice command of the sheet to a sheet ejecting apparatus, which is selected by the operator. The sheet ejecting apparatus to which the paper ejection notice command is inputted starts a drive motor and the like to eject the recording paper.

  • Publication number: 20020148595
Abstract: A heatsink of the present invention has a column having a heat conducting plate with a heat receiving face contacting a heat producing element. On the side faces of the column are a plurality of first slits and a plurality of second slits disposed transversely to the plurality of first slits. These slits form a plurality of pillar-type protrusions functioning as fins for cooling. The depths of the first and second slits in the column are different, and this difference in levels are used to cause the fluid for cooling to form a turbulent flow. A cross section of the column tapers off gradually or in stages as the vertical distance increases from the heat receiving face. A cooling apparatus for the present invention includes a cooling means mounted on the heatsink of the present invention. The cooling apparatus for the present invention enjoys a high cooling ability and reduced size.

  • Publication number: 20020131786
Abstract: Provided are a post-processing device, an image forming apparatus having the post-processing device and an error handling method therefor. A conveyed sheet is temporarily stacked on a pair of slide guides (310, 311), and after post-processing such as stapling is conducted on the sheets, the slide guides (310, 311) are opened to drop down the sheets on a face-down discharge portion (125) on an upper surface of a printer (100). If the number of sheets temporarily stacked on the slide guides (310, 311) exceeds the post-processing possible number of sheets, the slide guides (310, 311) are opened to drop down the sheets on the face-down discharge portion (125). If the size of sheets to be post-processed is unsuitable for the post-processing, a flapper (301) is changed over so that the sheets transported from the printer main body (100) are discharged directly to the face-down discharge portion (125) and stacked thereon.
