  • Publication number: 20240098501
Abstract: An information handling system and peripheral mouse establish level four security when a preloaded security identification packet is available to securely identify both devices for the exchange of pairing information in a manner that avoids man-in-the-middle attacks. The peripheral advertises with both a BLE protocol packet that supports a conventional level 3 security pairing and a secure identification packet that supports a level four security pairing. When the secure identification packet advertisement is selected by a host, the BLE profile may be populated without performing pairing so that the profile can be used to subsequently pair without risk of a malicious device imitating the BLE interface.

  • Patent number: 11893174
Abstract: An information handling system mouse autonomously provides a rapid visual image transition from a first display to a second display in response to a predetermined condition detected at the mouse, such as a left click that an end user performs when on the visual image title bar accompanied by a gesture or a hot key input. The mouse responds to the inputs by commanding an acceleration of movement of the cursor coordinates so that the information handling system rapidly moves the visual image from the first display to the second. In various embodiments, the movement can include a selection to go to a full screen presentation or to keep the visual image size the same. The visual image transfer is performed without any coordination with the information handling system other than commanding cursor coordinate movements.

  • Publication number: 20240031542
Abstract: An information handling system camera detects ambient light and applies ambient light brightness to determine whether to color correct a captured image with ambient color temperature or a color temperature associated with a display. For example, a first RGB ambient light sensor detects ambient light from the camera field of view. When the ambient light is below a predetermined brightness, the camera image sensor processor (ISP) applies color temperature of a second RGB ambient light sensor directed at a display to perform color correction. For instance, with camera that mounts on a display top side, the second RGB ambient light sensor is disposed at the bottom of the camera and directed at the display.

  • Publication number: 20240031718
Abstract: A headset presents audio sounds with first and second speakers disposed in first and second earcups that fit over first and second of an end user's ears. One ear cup adjusts with a greater travel distance relative to the other earcup so that the headset rests on the end user head with the one earcup raised above an ear and the other on an ear. A position sensor disposed in the headset detects the headset configuration to turn off audio at the speaker of the earcup that is displaced from the ear while increasing volume at the speaker of the earcup that remains over an ear. In addition, when only one ear is covered by an earcup, the audio presentation converts from stereo to monoaural.

  • Patent number: 11797176
Abstract: A computing device may segment an input area of an user input device (e.g., the surface of a trackpad) into multiple subsets. At a given time, the computing device may use one of the multiple subsets for mapping to a display device (e.g., instead of mapping the entire input area to the display device). To illustrate, based on receiving user input in one of the multiple subsets, the computing device may map that subset to the display device so that the subset is represented at the display device (e.g., without representing the other subsets at the display device). By segmenting the input area, an aspect ratio of a segment may be matched to an aspect area of the display device. Accordingly, distortions associated with an aspect ratio mismatch between the input area and the display device may be reduced or avoided.
