  • Publication number: 20230120557
Abstract: Daisy chained displays that present information from an information handling system as visual images has remote support of display settings provided through an address assignment scheme to communicate display settings to specific displays of the daisy chain and allows each display to determine a numerical index of the display for presentation at the display. A remote control session for display settings accepts inputs based upon the numerical index presented at each display and sends the display setting inputs through the daisy chain to the address associated with the numerical index for application at the display.

  • Patent number: 11632815
Abstract: An information handling system and keyboard automatically coordinate wireless pairing when the keyboard couples to the information handling system to interface contacts exposed at the information handling system housing and the keyboard. The information handling system retrieves an identifier of the keyboard through a contact, determines if the keyboard is already paired, and if not initiates wireless pairing with a command through the contact. A pairing key is provided from the keyboard to the information handling system through the contact and applied by the information handling system to complete pairing. A confirm code is communicated through the contact to the keyboard for communication back to the information handling system by wireless signals. The contacts provide a charging path to charge the keyboard when coupled to the information handling system.

  • Publication number: 20230115144
Abstract: An information handling system peripheral display integrates a camera module aligned to capture visual images along an axis parallel to the display panel and directed towards a mirror that rotates out from the display at an angle that reflects light from a front face of the display towards the camera module and rotates down against the display to block external light from entering the camera module. In one embodiment, plural lenses couple to the display to selectively intercede with light that reflects at the mirror to adjust visual images captured by the camera module, such as for a zoom or wide field of view.

  • Publication number: 20230086381
Abstract: An information handling system manages automated wireless pairing with phase-based ranging to automatically initiate pairing when the peripheral powers up in an advertising mode within a predetermined range of the information handling system. In one embodiment, a display user interface presents instructions to the end user to move the peripheral to a different distance relative to the information handling system to confirm the pairing. In another embodiment, radio power for the pairing is adjusted based upon the distance to provide communication at substantially the pairing range as further confirmation of pairing to the correct peripheral and additional security for the pairing key exchange.

  • Patent number: 11595590
Abstract: A method for processing images by an information handling system includes receiving image data including first frames captured using a first exposure at a first frame rate and second frames captured using a second exposure at a second frame rate. The first frame rate is greater than the second frame rate. The method includes merging each second frame of the second frames with each first frame of a corresponding plurality of the first frames to generate a corresponding plurality of merged frames. Each merged frame of the corresponding plurality of merged frames may have a dynamic range of tonal values greater than each dynamic range of tonal values of each frame merged to form the merged frame.

  • Patent number: 11507205
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for a smart mouse that may include transmitting, by the mechanical switch of the smart mouse, a signal to a microcontroller unit of the smart mouse in response to a movement of the smart mouse caused by a user, the movement causing the mechanical switch to be in a closed position, the signal indicating that the mechanical switch is in the closed position; receiving, by the microcontroller unit, the signal indicating that the mechanical switch is in the closed position; and in response to receiving the signal: causing, by a power switch of the smart mouse, at least one battery of the smart mouse to provide power to an optical unit of the smart mouse, the provided power causing the optical unit to be in an on state, the on state of the optical unit causing the smart mouse to be electrically enabled for use.

  • Publication number: 20220308652
Abstract: An information handling system wirelessly interfaces with a peripheral device, such as a keyboard or mouse, through a primary radio and communication protocol, such as Bluetooth. A secondary radio interfaces with the primary radio to provide a low power wake and sleep using a wake signal sent between the secondary radios. An information handling system may wake the peripheral, such as at system power up, or the peripheral may wake the information handling system, such as at detection of an input at the peripheral for communication to the information handling system.

  • Publication number: 20220312319
Abstract: An information handling system wirelessly interfaces with plural peripheral devices, such as a keyboard or mouse, through primary radios that have a communication protocol, such as Bluetooth Low Energy or a wireless local area network. Secondary radios interface with their associated primary radio to provide a low power wake and sleep using wake and sleep signals sent between the secondary radios. An individual wake command is transmitted by a secondary radio to wake one peripheral or information handling system. A group wake command is transmitted by a secondary radio to wake plural peripherals and/or information handling system.

  • Publication number: 20220308650
Abstract: An information handling system wirelessly interfaces with a location peripheral aid through primary radios that have a communication protocol, such as Bluetooth Low Energy or a wireless local area network, and through secondary radios having a low power wake and sleep using wake and sleep signals sent between the secondary radios. The location peripheral aid establishes communication with the information handling system, which reports its position to a network location to allow tracking location of the peripheral aid. The peripheral primary and secondary radio transmit and receive states operate with different profiles to manage power based upon bi-directional communications tracked over time.

  • Patent number: 11409853
Abstract: A system and method using a system for authenticating a person as an authorized user before waking an information handling system from an inactive state. A sensor receives an input from a person, captures information about the person and a microcontroller unit (MCU) determines if the captured information matches information corresponding to an authorized user. If the MCU determines the captured information corresponds to information corresponding to an authorized user, the MCU sends a command to one of a central processing unit (CPU) or an embedded controller (EC) to change operation of the information handling system to an active state. If the MCU determines the captured information does not correspond to information corresponding to an authorized user, no command is sent to the CPU or EC to change operation of the information handling system.

  • Publication number: 20220149994
Abstract: An information handling system communicates with external devices, such as a docking station, through a multi-protocol streaming cable, such as USB 3.0 (or greater) cable having a USB data protocol, a DisplayPort graphics protocol and a power transfer protocol. Upon detection of excessive errors at the cable, the multi-protocol stream is adjusted to maintain errors within an acceptable range and prioritize information transferred through one of the protocols.
