  • Patent number: 6904383
Abstract: A signal acquisition section 19 acquires, for example, a vehicle velocity pulse signal, which is generated from a vehicle velocity sensor 8 in accordance with the movement of a vehicle that is a mobile body. A distance information acquisition section 20 acquires distance information concerning the movement distance of the vehicle from a GPS receiver 2. A distance factor computing section 21 computes a distance factor value based on the acquired vehicle velocity pulse signal and distance information. A change detection section 23 then compares this computed distance factor value and a distance factor reference value stored in a reference value storage section 30 to detect a continuous change of the distance factor value. That is, change detection section 23 detects a change of tire outer diameter due to a change of the pneumatic pressure of the vehicle's tire or tire exchange, etc.

  • Patent number: 6400657
Abstract: An optical disk recording system includes a plurality of slots housing portable optical memory media and operative to select a desired optical recording medium to perform data read/write or includes a plurality of recording media housed in a magazine having the function of replacement. It is decided, during writing data to a recording medium, whether writing to the recording medium held in a slot is permissible and if writing is impermissible, writing to a recording medium of another slot is carried out. In the case of a medium exchangeable memory device having a detachable magazine having a plurality of slots, when writing to a slot of one magazine is impermissible, writing to a recording medium held in a slot of another magazine is carried out. Writing can be carried out without considering the state of the recording medium.

  • Patent number: 6382258
Abstract: A flexible tube having high flexibility and high resistance to pressure and causing little twist and elongation when subjected to a high internal pressure. A flexible tube 21 has an inner tubular layer 11 made of a soft resin, an inner spiral reinforcement 1 made of a hard resin and helically wound around the inner tubular layer 11, an intermediate tubular layer 12 made of a soft resin and surrounding the inner spiral reinforcement 1, and an outer spiral reinforcement 4 made of a hard resin and helically wound around the intermediate tubular layer 12 in the direction opposite to the winding direction of the inner spiral reinforcement 1. As the direction of the helix of the inner and outer spiral reinforcements 1 and 4 are opposite to each other, forces due to internal pressure acting to twist the helixes are canceled out.
