Patent number: 5272684Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for improving accuracy of recording and reproducing information onto and from a magneto-optic recording information medium. In the first method, a width of a mark formed by a relatively low intensity light beam between two kinds of light beam intensities used for recording information is made larger than a sum of a track land width and the maximum track offset of the light beam, thereby the mark formed by the relatively low intensity light beam covers the track land portion in its full width. In the first apparatus, a reflected light beam from the magneto-optic recording information medium is split into a reflected beam for information reproducing and a reflected beam for tracking and focusing servos at the reproducing, thereby the apparatus can remove part being affected by the track groove portion from the reflected light beam for information reproducing.Type: GrantFiled: July 26, 1990Date of Patent: December 21, 1993Assignee: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Koichi Takeuchi, Osamu Ito, Kyosuke Yoshimoto, Kunimaro Tanaka, Isao Watanabe, Kazuhiko Tsutsumi, Ryuichirou Aria, Yoshihiro Kiyose, Kazuhiko Nakane, Teruo Furukawa, Masayoshi Shimamoto, Yoshiyuki Nakaki

Patent number: 5267537Abstract: In a machine, such as an internal combustion engine, in which a chain is used to transmit rotating power from one shaft to another, the chain is situated in an oil-tight chain compartment which is separated from other lubricant containing spaces so that lubricating oil in the other spaces cannot flow directly into the lubricating oil in the chain compartment. Contamination of the chain lubricant is avoided, and the useful life of the chain is increased. In a first embodiment, a separate quantity of oil is situated in the chain compartment. In a second embodiment, the chain lubricating oil is recirculated in the chain compartment by a dedicated pump. In a third embodiment, filtered engine oil is delivered to the chain compartment through a passage in a shaft, and through a port in a chain sprocket on the shaft.Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 1992Date of Patent: December 7, 1993Assignee: Tsubakimoto Chain Co.Inventors: Tadasu Suzuki, Yuichi Futami, Kazuhiko Shimaya, Kazuhiko Tsutsumi

Patent number: 5208797Abstract: In a magneto-optical recording system for recording information with bits having upward magnetization and having downward magnetization on a recording layer of a magneto-optical recording medium, having four magnetic layers exchange-coupled with each other. A laser beam directed onto the medium is modulated to heat the magneto-optical recording medium to two values, for "High" writing and for "Low" writing. During "High" writing, the first to third layers lose magnetization because their Curie temperatures are exceeded, and the direction of the magnetization of the first layer, which is the recording layer is determined mainly by the magnetostatic coupling from the the fourth layer. During "Low" writing, the first and the third layers lose their magnetization as their Curie temperatures are exceeded, and the direction of the magnetization of the first layer is determined by the exchange coupling from the second layer, which in turn is dependent on the exchange coupling from the fourth layer.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 1990Date of Patent: May 4, 1993Assignee: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Yoshiyuki Nakaki, Takashi Tokunaga, Tatsuya Fukami, Motohisa Taguchi, Kazuhiko Tsutsumi

Patent number: 5197048Abstract: A magneto-optic recording medium has a cartridge provided with a magnetization direction indicating portion for indicating the direction of magnetization of a second magnetic layer. Alternatively, the direction of magnetization of the second magnetic layer is recorded in advance in the first magnetic layer. Patent number: 5130958Abstract: Information on a spinning magneto-optic disk is overwritten by illuminating a spot on a track on the disk with an erasing beam in the presence of a biasing magnetic field, and illuminating another spot on the same track with a writing beam during the same revolution of the disk. The erasing beam and writing beam can be focused through the same lens. The erasing beam erases all bits to the same known value, so it is not necessary to control the writing beam according to the old values of the bits. Benefits include simpler control logic and less stringent positioning requirements than in the past.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 1989Date of Patent: July 14, 1992Assignee: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Tatsuya Fukami, Kazuhiko Tsutsumi, Takashi Tokunaga

Patent number: 4727926Abstract: A width changing method in which the width of a slab under casting is changed by a movement of narrow face of a continuous casting mold by the operation of a horizontal driving device and a rotary driving device operable independently of the horizontal driving device. The period of width changing operation is divided into a forward taper changing period in which each narrow face is inclined toward the center of the mold and a rearward taper changing period in which each mold wall is inlcined away from the center of the mold. The acceleration of the horizontal movement of each narrow face is determined by means of allowable shell deformation resistance as a parameter for each period. Also is determined the angular velocity of the rotary device or the difference in velocity between the upper and lower ends of the narrow face. The width changing operation is conducted while maintaining the acceleration and the angular velocity or the velocity difference at constant levels in respective periods.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 1986Date of Patent: March 1, 1988Assignee: Nippon Steel CorporationInventors: Kazuhiko Tsutsumi, Wataru Ohashi, Takeyoshi Ninomiya, Masami Temma
