  • Patent number: 5947189
Abstract: A heat exchanging system includes two cooling fans for cooling heat exchanging medium of a heat exchanger, and a control device for controlling rotational speeds of the cooling fans. The control device is attached to an outer surface of a fan shroud so that radiation fins of the control device is disposed inside the fan shroud. Further, the radiation fins of the control device is disposed between two fan accommodating portions each having a cylindrical shape. That is, the control device is disposed in a comparatively large space formed by two fan accommodating portions. Therefore, the control device can be readily attached to the fan shroud on a vehicle, and the size of the radiation fins can be made larger. Thus, the heat exchanging system cools the control device sufficiently while improving ventilation performance of the cooling fans.

  • Patent number: 5513951
Abstract: The present invention relates to a fan having a plurality of equiangularly spaced, radially extending blades. The spacing provided between adjacent blades is substantially constant along the entire radial length of the blade for increasing a blowing efficiency, while also allowing a mold separation operation along the axial direction during the formation of the fan using a mold. In a case where the blade is a sweep-forward blade, the number of the blades is seven or more and has a sweep-forward angle of the blades between 35 to 45 degrees. Finally, in case where an electric motor for rotating the fan is supported by stays, the number of stay member and the number of blades, which are not evenly dividable by each other, should satisfy a relationship of 2,000<x.times.y.times.Nf/60, where N.sub.f is a rotational speed of the fan.

  • Patent number: 5466120
Abstract: A blower comprising an axial-flow fan covered by a cylindrical shroud and a motor for driving the fan. The motor is supported by radially extending stays at the central region of the fan on the suction side of the fan. The stays are integrally formed with a central support for the motor and an outer cylindrical shroud covering the fan. Each of the stays is bent and subdivided into an outer portion near the shroud and an inner portion near the support ring. The outer portion extends along a radial line about the axis of the fan, and the inner portion extends at an inclination to a radial line about the axis of the fan so as to reduce noise induced when air passes through the stays and the fan. The blower can also include a protection net comprising annular ribs circumferentially interconnecting the adjacent stays. Each of the annular ribs has a streamlined cross-sectional shape.

  • Patent number: 5390294
Abstract: A graphic processing system having a graphic element managing table storing the graphic information of graphic elements and a dimension-geometry constraint managing table storing the dimensional and geometric constraints for graphic elements. The system includes a dimension-geometric constraint succession judging table referred to for judging whether or not the dimensional and geometric constraints of a graphic are to be succeeded. Thereby, the system automatically determines whether the constraint information in the dimension-geometry constraint managing table can be succeeded as they are or must be deleted when editing is further applied to a graphic which has been already formed. The automatic determination is achieved by referring to the dimension-geometry constraint succession judging table which updates the constraint information without manual operation by the user.

  • Patent number: 5051890
Abstract: A semiconductor memory unit employed in a microcomputer system includes an address counter for fetching address information from a microcomputer in response to an address latch signal from the microcomputer. The address counter further receives an updating control signal from the microcomputer and updates the fetched address information by one in response to each updating control signal. The memory device further includes a program memory for storing a string of instructions and an address decoder circuit for accessing the program memory in response to the address information from the address counter. Since the address information is updated by the updating control signal, the microcomputer fetches and executes the successive instructions without supplying the respective address information to the memory device.

  • Patent number: 5042274
Abstract: A piezoelectric needle selector utilizes an upstanding knitting cylinder having a multiplicity of needle jacks mounted thereto for independent movement in a direction parallel to the axis of the knitting cylinder. A plurality of piezoelectric actuators, each having a stack of planar piezoelectric elements coupled at one end to a plunger, are mounted via respective holders to a fixed support frame disposed adjacent the knitting cylinder. The selective application of voltage pulses to the piezoelectric actuators results in the linear travel of the associated plungers toward and away from the knitting cylinder. The linear travel of the selected plungers is translated into the movement of the desired needle jacks up and down on the knitting cylinder, as by several needle select levers pivoted by the plungers and acting on the usual butts on the needle jacks.

  • Patent number: 4949242
Abstract: A microcomputer comprises a microprocessor chip and a memory chip coupled to each other. The memory chip includes a memory for storing various processing data, a bus interface for designating an address information of the memory to be accessed for a data transfer, and an address latch for temporarily holding the address information from the bus interface and so as to supply the address information to the memory. Furthermore, there is provided an automatically updated data pointer whose initial value is set with the address information supplied from the bus interface. In case of individually designating an address for each item of data to be transferred, the address latch is used to supply the address information to the memory so that an address is given to the address latch by the bus interface for each data transfer of one unitary data.

  • Patent number: 4842115
Abstract: A hydraulic clutch for transmitting torque from an input rotating member to an output rotating member when friction plates are brought into engagement with each other. Hydraulic fluid having pressure depending upon rotational speed of an input shaft is supplied from a hydraulic fluid source into a hydraulic pressure chamber, to cause an urging member to bring the friction plates into engagement with each other when the rotational speed of the input shaft reaches a predetermined value. A control mechanism controls opening and closing of a pressure regulating valve in response to the rotational speed of the input shaft. When the pressure regulating valve is opened, the hydraulic fluid is caused to flow from the hydraulic pressure chamber to a low pressure side, and when the pressure regulating valve is closed, the hydraulic fluid is prevented from flowing to the low pressure side.

  • Patent number: 4840541
Abstract: A fan apparatus for preventing the occurrence of a burble on a surface of a blade while the resistance to air flow into the fan is increased and the generated noise is kept small. Each fan of the blade has a first area which extends from the bottom portion of the blade to the intermediate portion and a second area from the intermediate portion of the blade to the top portion of the blade. The setting angle of the blade is a first, predetermined angle at the first area of the blade but is increased at the second area of the blade. Further, the chord length of the blade gradually increases from the bottom to the top of the blade. Additionally, a first wing axis of the blade in the first area is not parallel to a second wing axis of the blade at the second area but, rather, the second wing axis is inclined towards the rotational direction of the fan apparatus.
