Abstract: A recording medium cartridge and producing method thereof, such that slidability of resin-fabricated members of different materials against one another can be assured even in conditions in which impacts are successively applied. The recording medium cartridge is provided with a recording medium T and a plurality of resin-fabricated components. A mixture C of perfluoropolyethylene and polytetrafluoroethylene is interposed at boundary surfaces at which the resin-fabricated components of different material slide against one another and/or at boundary surfaces at which the resin-fabricated components of different material slide against one another.

Abstract: The magnetic tape cassette has a base with an opening for forming a transparent window and a transparent resin-made window member to be installed in the opening. The window member is provided with an engaging unit which is to be fitted into the base at an angle and the base is provided with an engaging portion that is formed at an angle in correspondence to the engaging unit and the window member is installed in the opening by being fitted in at an angle.

Abstract: A leader pin is attached to an end portion of recording tape housed in a recording tape cartridge, and an opening for allowing the leader pin to be pulled out is formed in a side wall of a case. Holding portions that hold the leader pin are formed in the vicinity of the opening in the case. The leader pin includes, on both ends of a body portion, large diameter portions and flange portions disposed via neck portions on the large diameter portions. The holding portions include slit portions that open towards the opening and into which the neck portions enter, first concave portions that house the large diameter portions, and second concave portions that house the flange portions. The outer diameter of the flange portions of the leader pin is formed so as to be smaller than the outer diameter of the large diameter portions.

Abstract: The magnetic tape cassette has a base with an opening for forming a transparent window and a transparent resin-made window member to be installed in said opening. The braking member can be set at a locking position, at which the braking member engages with an engaging portion formed at a top surface of a floor of the hub and impedes rotation of the reel, and a rotation permitting position, at which engagement with the engaging portion is cancelled due to the braking member moving away from the top surface of the floor of the hub due to pushing-up of an operation portion which is inserted through a pass-through hole of the hub. A guide wall, which extends toward the braking member and always opposes a side surface of the operation portion, is formed at a peripheral edge of the hole.

Abstract: A recording tape cartridge, comprising: a leader pin at which flange portions are formed at both ends, holding portions formed at a case and holding the flange portions of the leader pin in a vicinity of an opening, overhanging portions formed at the holding portions and overlapping the flange portions at inner surface sides thereof, and wall surfaces which are formed at the holding portions and which peripheral surfaces of the flange portions oppose, wherein a clearance between the inner surface of the flange portion and the overhanging portion, and a clearance between the peripheral surface of the flange portion and the wall surface, are defined such that, when the leader pin tilts, the peripheral surface of the flange portion contacts the wall surface before the inner surface of the flange portion contacts the overhanging portion, is provided.

Abstract: A recording tape cartridge includes a leader member that is attached to an end portion of recording tape and on both ends of which flange portions are formed, and holding portions that are formed in an upper case and a lower case and hold the leader member in the vicinity of an opening. Projecting portions are formed on the holding portions and overlap the flange portions on inner surface sides of the flange portions. Through holes are formed in the upper case and the lower case, whereby undercut portions are not present in the projecting portions. The case of the recording tape cartridge can be molded without complicating the configuration of the mold.

Abstract: A recording tape cartridge includes: a case accommodating a reel on which a recording tape is wound; a brake member provided non-rotatably with respect to the case; a lock member provided in a mounting portion on the inner surface of a top plate of the case to be slidable in a radial direction of the reel; and a falling-out preventing member for keeping the lock member from being removed from the mounting portion. The brake member is arranged to selectively assume a rotation locking position where the brake member is engaged with the reel to prevent the reel from being rotated and a rotation permitting position where the brake member is disengaged from the reel to permit the reel to be rotated. The lock member is arranged, when the brake member assumes the rotation locking position, to be interposed between the upper surface of the reel and a top plate of the case, thereby preventing the reel from being moved axially thereof.

A reference surface is provided integrally at an outer side of the floor. The upper flange extends integrally toward a radial direction outer side from an open end of the reel hub. The lower flange is mounted to a floor side end of the reel hub, and opposes the upper flange. The reel plate is fixed to the outer surface of the floor, and is attracted by a magnet of the rotating shaft without being contacted by the magnet.

Abstract: The present invention provides a leader tape, method for manufacturing the same, and a magnetic tape cartridge with a leader tape having surface properties and conductive properties for securing slide durability suitable for a magnetic tape drive using a magnetic tape cartridge of one reel cartridge. A leader tape joined to a starting end of a magnetic tape wound around a magnetic tape reel of a one reel cartridge, comprising: a base material; and a conductive slide layer formed on at least one surface of the base material, the surface of the conductive slide layer having a surface electrical resistance value of 102 ?/square to 1010 ?/square and a surface roughness Ra of 0.5 ?m to 1.5 ?m.

Abstract: A reinforcement ring is insert-molded as an insert body on a reel hub of a reel around which recording tape is wound. The reinforcement ring includes a metal ring at least whose inner peripheral surface is covered by a resin layer. The clearance between the reinforcement ring and a mold during reel molding can be reduced, and the amount of eccentricity of the insert body with respect to the reel hub can be reduced.

Abstract: A magnetic tape cassette includes a case that is formed by joining an upper half and a lower half, one or more tape reels, a window and a reel urging member having a tape reel contacting portion which contacts an upper part of the tape reel(s), bent arms connected to opposite sides of the tape reel contacting portion and sliding end portions provided at distal ends of the bent arm. A slide groove is provided in an inner surface of a perimeter of a window opening in the upper half and a window member has hold-and-retain portions which hold the sliding end portions in cooperation with a bottom surface of the slide groove into which the sliding end portions have been fitted. A tape reel suitable for use with the magnetic tape cassette, a resinous leaf spring and its production process are also provided. Tape reels housed in a cassette case can be urged toward the lower half by a member whose structure is simple and permits easy fitting and removal.

Abstract: A tape cartridge which, in a state in which a reel cannot rotate, restricts movement of a braking member and restricts movement of the reel. In a state in which engaging walls of locking members are engaged with a top edge portion of a reel hub, step portions and the engaging walls abut a top surface of an upper flange and an inner peripheral surface of the reel hub. In this way, when the cartridge is not in use, vertical direction movement of the reel is restricted. Even if impact of a drop or the like is applied to the recording tape cartridge 10, the reel does not rise up. Accordingly, a problem such as the braking member tilting and becoming anchored does not arise. It is also possible to overcome a problem of the upper flange or a lower flange of the reel breaking due to the reel moving within a case when the tape cartridge is dropped.

Abstract: Various types of recording cartridges, each of which has a case which rotatably accommodates a reel on which a recording tape is wound, are provided with grasped portions with concave portions at side walls of the case and which a grasping device of a same, external library with accommodating chambers can grasp from both sides. A height from a floor surface of the accommodating chamber to the grasped portions when the cartridge is accommodated in the accommodating chamber of the library is made to be the same regardless of a type of the recording tape cartridge, and an interval between a pair of corner portions of the grasped portions, which corner portions are near a removal opening of the library, are made to be the same regardless of the cartridge type. A pair of corner portions of the grasped portions, which corner portions are deeper in the library, are chamfered.

Abstract: A recording tape cartridge with high strength and resistance to deformation around an opening aperture of a case, which opening aperture is for drawing out recording tape. The recording tape cartridge is provided with a leader block at a distal end of a magnetic tape. Left and right peripheral portions of this leader block are defined by wall portions. The leader block is mounted and removed at a leader block-retaining portion, which is an opening portion which penetrates through the case vertically. An opening aperture for drawing out the magnetic tape from the case is formed at a base portion of the leader block-retaining portion. Because the wall portions are provided, the leader block-retaining portion does not have free-standing end portions at any of a front wall at a front wall side thereof, a ceiling plate and a floor plate, and strength of the leader block-retaining portion is high.

Abstract: A reel has: a hub which is shaped as a cylindrical tube having a bottom, and around which a recording tape is wound; a flange provided at an end portion of the hub, and holding a widthwise direction end portion of the recording tape; a reel plate attracted by magnetic force to a rotating shaft of a drive device; and a pin for caulking which projects from a bottom surface of a floor wall of the hub, for attachment of the reel plate. A positioning portion, which positions the pin for caulking, is provided at a top surface of the floor wall of the hub.
