  • Patent number: 6872981
Abstract: A diamond ultraviolet luminescent element (10) having a current-injection light-emitting diode structure includes a high-quality boron-doped p-type diamond crystal (semiconductor layer) (1) synthesized by the high pressure and high temperature method; a phosphorous-doped n-type diamond crystal (n-type semiconductor layer) (3) formed on the first diamond surface by the chemical vapor deposition; an electrode (5) formed on the surface of the n-type semiconductor layer (3); and an electrode (7) formed on the surface of the p-type semiconductor layer (1). The luminescence (235 nm) attributed to the recombination of free excitons resulting from current injection dominates in ultraviolet wavelength region (10).

  • Patent number: 6845538
Abstract: The lower end of the rotative brush 12 contacts the cleaning subject surface 26. As the driving wheels 14 roll on the cleaning subject surface 26, the rotative brush 12 rotates, while being guided by the sweep-up slope surface 10e1 of the slope surface forming portion 10e, the dust 28 on the cleaning subject surface 26 is swept up by the rotation of the rotative brush 12. The dust 28 is separated from the rotative brush 12 and received in the dust receiver 10a. Substantially at the same time as this, the cleaning subject surface 26 can be wiped while pressing the sheet-like wiping member 24 against the cleaning subject surface 26.

  • Publication number: 20040240916
Abstract: In an image reading device of a multifunction device, a sheet transport device is provided with a resist roller and a resist roller in a sheet transport path extending from a document tray on which a document as a sheet is placed to an image reading region where reading of a document is performed. The resist roller and a roller correct skewing of the sheet and delivers the sheet to a transport path extending to the resist roller placed in front of the image reading region. After having been corrected once in the resist roller, the document is transported to the resist roller, so that it is possible to reliably correct skewing of the sheet with the resist roller and the roller.

  • Patent number: 6820712
Abstract: A vehicle has a lockable differential. The lockable differential generally comprises an actuator and a locking mechanism. The vehicle also has a motor. The actuator, the motor or both are controlled according to a control routine that reduces wear on the components by reducing the likelihood that a locked differential will be requested when locking is not very practical. In one arrangement, actuation only occurs below a preset threshold speed and can occur through a specified range defined between the preset threshold and a second threshold. In another arrangement, the motor speed is controlled when actuation is desired such that motor speed is reduced to a lockable speed range.

  • Publication number: 20040212139
Abstract: In a standby state wherein a document is set in a document tray and can be supplied when needed, when a start signal is not inputted (S21: NO), a controller determines whether a document regulating plate has been operated or not based on a detection output of a document size detector for detecting a position of the document regulating plate (S31), and when the document regulating plate was operated (S31: YES), the controller lowers the document tray by a predetermined amount and stops it (S32). A lowered amount of the document tray can be arbitrarily set by a user through an operator control panel. With a sheet feeding apparatus, an image reading apparatus and an image forming apparatus constituted as described above, even in a state in which the document is set in the document tray, the set state can be easily canceled by operating the document regulating plate.

  • Publication number: 20040210780
Abstract: It is an object to increase a speed of a CPU operation irrespective of an operation speed of a peripheral circuit and to prevent an increase in power consumption from being thereby caused. A clock generating circuit (10) generates two clocks having phases which are equal to each other, that is, a CPU clock (CLKCPU) and a bus clock (CLKBUS). A BIU (bus interface unit) (51) controls a code bus based on the CPU clock (CLKCPU) and controls a peripheral bus based on the bus clock (CLKBUS). The clock generating circuit (10) switches a frequency of each of the CPU clock (CLKCPU) and the bus clock (CLKBUS) depending on an operation mode of an MCU. For example, a speed of the CPU clock (CLKCPU) is set to be higher than that of the bus clock (CLKBUS) in order to carry out a high-speed operation of a CPU. Also in that case, the phases of both clocks are equal to each other. Consequently, the code bus and the peripheral bus in the BIU (51) can easily be controlled.

  • Publication number: 20040155573
Abstract: A diamond high brightness ultraviolet ray emitting element employs the carrier high-density phase of a diamond as a light-emitting mechanism. It includes a diamond substrate, a first diamond layer formed on the diamond substrate, a second diamond layer formed on the first diamond layer and functioning as an emission layer, a third diamond layer formed on the second diamond layer, a first electrode formed on the first diamond layer, and a second electrode formed on the third diamond layer. The second diamond layer constitutes the carrier high-density phase formed by high-density excitation. The combination of the high-density excitation with the high-quality diamond can implement the device that has stable carrier high-density phase, and emission efficiency higher than a conventional device with low-density excitation.

Each record includes a first stage information at which the food product is processed, a first time information for specifying the time period of processing at the first stage, a second stage information at which the livestock product processed at the first stage is received as material and a second time information for specifying the time period of processing at the second stage. The first process specifies a target record whose first stage and time information are coincident with that of an original product. The second process specifies a new target record whose first stage and time information are coincident with the second stage and time information of the previous target record. • Patent number: 6732049
Abstract: A vehicle navigation system is provided. When route guidance for a vehicle to a destination is performed on the screen of a display unit based on road data for route search, whether or not the vehicle has entered a minor street is determined. When it is determined that the vehicle has entered a minor street, repeat searching for a route leading to the destination is performed by setting the point of entry into the minor street as a new starting point. The screen of the display unit is divided into two screens, and a guidance route is displayed on one of the divided screens based on the result of the repeat searching and road data for minor streets, and the minor street is displayed in a more enlarged form than the other screen.

  • Patent number: 6678066
Abstract: In a print processing section (12), print commands are converted into the form of a packet, and a header indicative of a print-end position is attached to the packet. The packet with the header attached thereto is stored into a command file section (13). A command transmitting section (14) reads out, whenever occasion calls, the packets (print commands) from the command file section (13), and sends them to a printing device (2). In the event that a print interrupt instruction is input during the printing operation, the command transmitting section (14) takes the following action on the basis of the contents of the headers of the packets. It passes the print commands of other packets than those being currently processed till a print-end position is reached, and sends only the print commands necessary for the process execution to the printing device.

  • Patent number: 6651212
Abstract: An ECC circuit implements a first error correction using a first BCH connection code and flash memory chips implement a second error connection using a second BCH error correction code which uses the same Galois filed. A controller implements error detection based on the first error correction code and using the information provided by the flash memory chip. Upon detecting error, the controller cancles the result of the second error correction made by the flash memory chip based on correction information and information of the error position and error value provided by the flash memory chip. The controller calculates the error position and error value by using the syndrome of the second error correction code derived from the information of computation and the syndrome of first error connection code and implements error correction for the related data based on the calculated error position and error value.

  • Patent number: 6629191
Abstract: In a memory including a flash memory, the life of the memory is prevented from being decreased due to the high frequency of rewrite operations of data to a specific area. When the erasure frequency of a block 301, storing four sectors of data, is high, each sector of block 301 is transferred to different blocks 302-305 to avoid deterioration of the data of block 301 due to the high frequency of rewriting.
