  • Patent number: 5685242
Abstract: A pulverized coal combustion burner includes a pulverized coal nozzle, and secondary and tertiary air nozzles provided in concentric relation to the pulverized coal nozzle. A flame stabilizing ring is provided at an outlet end of the pulverized coal nozzle. A separation wall is provided within the pulverized coal nozzle to divide a passage in this nozzle into two passages. A pulverized coal/air mixture flows straight through the two passages, so that recirculation flows of the pulverized coal/air mixture are formed in proximity to the outlet end of the pulverized coal nozzle. As a result, the ignitability of the pulverized coal, as well as a combustion rate, is enhanced, thereby reducing the amount of discharge of NOx.

  • Patent number: 5676526
Abstract: The present invention relates to a bubble elimination method in a medical centrifugal pump wherein a blood outlet 18 is directed upward so that a vertical line X passing through the enter point O of centrifugal pump main body 12 is positioned between two straight lines .alpha.,.beta. which respectively pass through center point O and a point A and center point O and a point B, points A and B lying on the circumference of centrifugal chamber 15 where its periphery connects with blood outlet 18, and a blood inlet 17 is directed upward at an angle which is larger than the angle which is formed between the axis and the inner peripheral surface of centrifuge chamber 15, blood outlet 18 and blood inlet 17 being supported in these states by a drive portion 13 of the centrifugal pump main body 12. After filling the centrifuge chamber with blood and liquid filling, the processes of low speed drive, drive halt and high speed drive are sequentially carried out to rotating body 23.

  • Patent number: 5660045
Abstract: The present invention has an object to provide a gas turbine combustor which is able to effect stable combustion in a wide range of fuel flow rate. A burner 1 is provided with fuel nozzles 31 and 32. When a fuel flow rate is small, diffusion flame is formed with fuel supplied from the nozzle 31 with a ring-shaped flame stabilizer 11. Next, fuel is supplied from the nozzle 32 to mix with air, reach to the flame stabilizer 11 and be held by the diffusion flame already formed, whereby stable premixed flames are formed in the flame stabilizer 11 from a range of low fuel air ratio. Further, when flame is propagated from the burner 1 to the burner 2, a fuel air ratio at the outer periphery side of the burner 1 is locally raised by the fuel supplied from the nozzle 31, whereby the combustion stability can be raised in a wide range of fuel flow rate and propagation of flame to adjacent burners becomes easy.

  • Patent number: 5575153
Abstract: A plurality of turbulence promotors (11) are arranged on a surface of a stabilizer (11) comprising a stabilizer portion (14) contacting combustion gas and support portion (15) for rectifying flow except for a heat receiving surface (13) contacting with combustion gas to promote heat transfer from the stabilizer to an air fuel flow. The distance between the turbulence promotor closest to the heat receiving surface (13) and the heat receiving surface is at least 4 times the height of said turbulence promotor to prevent back fire due to provision of the turbulence promotor.

  • Patent number: 5554418
Abstract: A passivation film is formed by plasma CVD process in which organic oxysilane is used as a raw gas. When an SiO.sub.2 film as the passivation film is formed on a surface of a substrate, Ar, He or NH.sub.3 gas is used as a reactive gas which serves as an auxiliary for decomposing the raw gas. Ashing of the substrate by oxygen or hydrogen radicals is thus prevented. Fluorine group gas of CF.sub.4 or NF.sub.3 may be added to the reactive gas. The SiO.sub.2 film as a passivation film as described above may be formed first as an initial passivation film and then another passivation film may be formed on top of the initial passivation film by using a reactive gas having an ashing effect such as O.sub.2, N.sub.2 O, O.sub.3 and H.sub.2.

  • Patent number: 4992960
Abstract: An image processing apparatus processes image data stored in a memory to thereby display an image on a display screen of a display unit under a control of a central processing unit (CPU). In one aspect of the invention, source data read from a source area of the memory are subjected to a rotation process and a logical operation and then converted to transfer data which will be written in a destination area of the memory by every word. In addition, first and last words within one line on the display screen are masked in accordance with predetermined first and second mask data. In another aspect of the invention, one of a wait mode and a not-wait mode is selected by wait control data outputted from the CPU. In the wait mode, the CPU is subjected to a wait state even in a memory read cycle. In the not-wait mode, the CPU is not subjected to the wait state normally in the memory read cycle.

  • Patent number: 4774217
Abstract: A catalytic structure for cleaning exhaust gas from automobiles, etc., is provided. The catalytic structure comprises a ceramic carrier having a three-dimensional network skeleton forming the intercommunicating voids therein and a catalyst-carried activated alumina layer formed on the surface of the three-dimensional network skeleton. This catalytic structure is produced by contacting a ceramic carrier with a catalyst-containing solution and drying the carrier by evaporating the solvent in the solution so that the catalyst will be carried at a higher density in the activated alumina layer on the side of the skeleton surface against which side the incoming exhaust gas does not impinge, than on the side against which the exhaust gas impinges.

  • Patent number: 4670304
Abstract: A porous ceramic body is prepared by dipping an organic foam having a three-dimensional network structure in a ceramic slurry to deposit a sufficient amount of the ceramic on the surface of the foam, moving an excess of the ceramic slurry contained in the foam to the intended peripheral region of the foam by exerting centrifugal force on the foam, thereby causing denser ceramic deposition in the peripheral region than in the other region of the foam, and then drying, solidifying, and baking to burn out and dissipate the foam and simultaneously sinter the ceramics.

  • Patent number: 4519820
Abstract: Filter apparatus having a honeycomb structure and a heater for purifying exhaust gases consists of cells or passages defined by porous partition walls. Alternate passages are provided respectively with upstream plugs and downstream plugs. Particulates in exhaust gases are trapped in the honeycomb structure and ignited by the heater. The upstream plugs define spaces upstream thereof in which particulates are trapped in addition to those trapped in the passages having downstream plugs. The heat of burning of the particulates trapped in the spaces facilitates the burning of the particulates trapped in the passages having downstream plugs. Therefore, the exhaust gas particulates trapped and collected in the downstream portion of the structure can also be easily burned to regenerate the structure over its entire length.
