  • Patent number: 7130077
Abstract: An apparatus for simultaneously reading images on both sides of the document sheet as the sheet having images on both sides is moved through the apparatus, one side read by a CCD sensor and the other side read by a contacted image sensor. An image synthesizing unit synthesizes image data from the CCD sensor and image data from the contacted image within one cycle of main scanning by the two image reading units. Furthermore, image processing circuits in the subsequent steps perform specific modes of processing on the data within one cycle of main scanning. That permits simultaneous reading of both sides of the sheet document without reducing document reading speed and expansion of the image processing unit.

  • Patent number: 7113297
Abstract: An image inputting and outputting apparatus which permits registration and fetching of document image data and which is so configured that choices with regard to registration and fetching of document image data can be made in simple procedures. To be specific, when instructions for registration and fetching document image data are received, dialog-type control means 100 inquires of the user about choices with regard to registration or fetching. On the basis of information provided by the user in answer to the inquiry, the means 100 issues instructions to document management means 300. For example, it is so arranged that the document image data just registered or fetched is specified by dialog-type control means 100 as next document image data to be fetched. That makes it possible to fetch in simple procedures again the document image data just registered or fetched.

  • Publication number: 20060120786
Abstract: In a print system in which without requiring a standardized command indicating use of a thumbnail image, and without causing an abnormal operation, a print content transmission device can direct a print device to use the thumbnail image, print content is described using XML format, and a direction command is described using XML format in the print content. In other words, in a step S201, a processing control unit (111) proceeds to a step S202 in the case where there is input from a user I/F unit. In the step S202, a unique information addition unit (104) judges whether or not the thumbnail image should be used for printing. In the case where it is judged that the thumbnail image should be used (S202: Yes), the unique information addition unit (104) directs a print content generation unit (108) to add, to the print content, a direction to use the thumbnail image (step S203).

  • Patent number: 6965457
Abstract: An apparatus for image processing which determines such attributes as screen halftone area, character area and continuous tone area that appear in image data. A wavelet transform circuit wavelet transforms values of picture elements within a reference block selected from an image. Absolute value calculation circuits and adders calculate characteristic values representing characteristics of said reference block for every spatial frequency band on the basis of results of wavelet transform. And a determination circuit determines an attribute of notice area made up of one or a plurality of picture elements within the reference block on the basis of the characteristic values of the reference block.

  • Patent number: 6792547
Abstract: The invention relates to a digital integrated apparatus capable of registering and fetching image data, and has an object to solve various problems resulting from the necessity of the user authentication at the time of using the apparatus. Specifically, it is arranged that, the display-input control means 92a classifies the user authentication under the first user authentication in a specific level and the second user authentication in a lower level than the first one, and then judges based on the initial setting whether the result of the second user authentication is valid or not. The first user authentication is based on the attribute of user's personal information including a user registration card Ku, and the second user authentication is based on the user ID and password inputted from the control panel 92. Therefore, it is possible to limit the fetching by using the other person's user ID and password.
