  • Publication number: 20110226078
Abstract: A complex joystick system master unit embodiment utilizes joystick segments and joystick joints arranged in a particular order with a slave unit arranged in a similar order. A sample master unit with three joystick segments has segment lengths that provide a relative ratio of lengths between themselves. The slave unit articulated arm utilizes controlled segments and articulated arm joints arranged in the same order and having the same relative ratio of lengths between themselves. Articulated arm electronic angle sensors and joystick segment angle sensors produce signal that are applied to a plurality of servos. The servos control movement of the articulated arm so that said respective relative angular articulated arm positions of the articulated arm controlled segments match those of the complex joystick segments.

  • Publication number: 20110102731
Abstract: A liquid crystal material in which liquid crystal molecules have uniform alignment state is provided. A liquid crystal layer containing a liquid crystal material is included between a TFT array substrate and an opposed substrate. The liquid crystal material has a phase system continuously showing an isotropic phase, a nematic phase, and a smectic ‘A’ phase in this order as temperature changes from higher state to lower state and shows electroclinic effect in the smectic ‘A’ phase. As the liquid crystal material is heated (temperature is increased), the nematic phase is shown after the smectic ‘A’ phase without other phase in between, and the isotropic phase is shown after the nematic phase without other phase in between. Since the alignment state of the liquid crystal molecules becomes uniform, the transmittance is precisely controlled.

  • Publication number: 20090249461
Abstract: There is provided a management server technology that allows a user to continuously use a business function of a business server without logging in again to the business server, even if the authority of the user to the business server is changed. The business server receives an access from a user terminal, and requests a management server to perform user authentication. In response to the authentication request, the management server determines a future scheduled authority of the user, generates not only authority information at the time of the user authentication, but also a determination result including the future scheduled authority information, and transmits them to the business server. The business server provides the user terminal with a new business function based on the scheduled user authority information, upon expiration of a validity period of the user authority to the current business function.
