Abstract: The present invention discloses a fan protection apparatus and related method thereof. The fan protection apparatus has a control circuit and a counter. According to the fan protection method, the user can set the acceptable restart number and the special time for auto restart. The fan protection apparatus and method can force to stop the fan when the fan encounters an abnormal situation. When the stop time has passed, the fan is automatically restarted. The present invention counts the number of restarts. If the number of restarts equals the set number and the abnormal situation also cannot be eliminated, the present invention cuts off power to the fan.

Abstract: A video surveillance camera has an infrared (IR) light emitting diode (LED) for emitting IR light, and a solar detector for detecting visible light. And the video surveillance camera can control the infrared light emitting diode to emit the IR light according to a level of visible light detected by the solar detector. Therefore, the video surveillance camera can fully turn the IR LED off or on when the level of visible light changes, even in the presence of invisible light.

Abstract: A method for managing incoming calls for a dual mode phone, comprising steps of: receiving an incoming call from a terminal; processing the incoming call and generating a prompt message to notify a user of the dual mode phone of the incoming call; determining whether the user accepts the incoming call; determining whether the dual mode phone is idle, if the user accepts the incoming call; determining whether a type of the incoming call matches with a current call mode of the dual mode phone if the dual mode phone is idle; switching from the current call mode to another call mode matching with the call mode of the incoming call if the type of the incoming call does not match with the current call mode of the dual mode phone; and establishing communication between the terminal and the dual mode phone.

Abstract: A network selection method automatically selects a communication network for a multi-mode mobile communication device, which has operability in two or more communication networks. Plural of digit map strings and a network priority setting are provided and stored in the mobile communication device. An input phone number is compared with all the digit map strings to obtain a match result. A communication network is selected by the mobile communication device among two or more communication networks based on a current network status, the match result, and the network priority setting.

Abstract: A mobile device for communicating in a first network or a second network includes a user interface (10, 10?), a call routing module (20, 20?), a network interface (60, 60?), a first communication module (30, 30?), a second communication module (40, 40?), and a phonebook management module (50, 50?). The call routing module is connected to the user interface for choosing a communication path. The network interface is used for connecting the mobile device to the first network or the second network. The first communication module and the second communication module are respectively connected between the call routing module and the network interface such that the mobile device can be communicated via the first network or the second network. The phonebook management module is also connected between the call routing module and network interface, for storing a communication history of the mobile device.

Abstract: An image password lock system by tracing the position information of the organism or article feature is provided. In this embodiment, a photographic device photographs a movable target object to read a dynamic image data. Moreover, the dynamic image data has a predetermined shooting range set to be a whole-region image, and the whole-region image has a central region and a plurality of specific password regions. A target object image is displayed by a display device, and then processed by an image processing device, thereby calculating a center coordinate point of the target object image in the dynamic image data, compiling a password constituted by a movement position of the target object image, displaying the password, and validating the password. Therefore, benefits of a novel password input mode without any contact, an efficient anti-theft function and the like are provided.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method to detect and identify 3-2 pulldown patterns in a video sequence. If no 3-2 pulldown pattern is detected, the video remains unmodified. If 3-2 pulldown patterns are found, repeated fields are removed and original frames are reconstructed. Optionally, additional instructions may be generated for a video encoder. Additionally, in accordance with the present invention, repeated fields are removed in a way that does not throw away any information. The method described herein describes a plurality of operations that define one or more metrics or parameters of the video data for use in identifying the repeated fields.

Abstract: A method for a digital subscriber line device to process dial string. The digital subscriber line device is coupled to a PSTN (public switched telephone network) and a VoIP network. First, a transmission is received by the digital subscriber line device. Then, the dial string of the transmission is compared with phone numbers stored in a PSTN digit map and in a VoIP digit map by a PSTN digit string processor and a VoIP digit string processor, respectively. The transmission is routed to the PSTN network when a phone number corresponding to the transmission is found in the PSTN digit map. The transmission is routed to the VoIP network when a phone number corresponding to the transmission is found in the VoIP digit map.

Abstract: A method for a broadband modem to process incoming calls. The broadband modem is coupled to a PSTN (public switched telephone network) and a VoIP network. First, an call is incoming by the broadband modem. Then, the broadband modem detects whether the incoming call is routed from the PSTN network or the VoIP network. When the incoming call is routed from the PSTN network, the broadband modem establishes a connection between a telephone coupled to the broadband modem and the PSTN network through a switch. When the incoming call is routed from the VoIP network, the broadband modem establishes a connection between the telephone and the VoIP network through the switch.
