  • Patent number: 9389667
Abstract: A computer implemented method resumes a computer from a power-saving state in a short time. Prior to shifting to a power-saving state, a drive sets a status flag indicating a loading state of a disk at a flash memory. For resumption from the power-saving state, the BIOS requests a ready notification from the drive. When it is determined that the status flag indicates not-loading of a disk, the drive skips the detection processing of the disk including initialization of a read/write circuit and a servo mechanism such as a spindle motor and sends a ready notification indicating not-loading of the disk to the BIOS. Receiving the ready notification, the BIOS can continue the resume processing.

  • Patent number: 9292302
Abstract: Provided is a method for temporarily skipping a secure boot function. A computer is configured so that a secure boot function is set as enabled by default. Depression of a power button of the computer in a power-off state generates a startup signal. At the time of startup from S4/S5 state, a switch is turned ON and PP bit indicating physical presence is set at a register. Depression of a specific key on a keyboard causes DE bit to be set at a register. When PP bit and DE bit are found, UEFI firmware stored in a firmware ROM temporarily skips integrity validation of a boot program only for boot this time.

  • Publication number: 20160009310
Abstract: A steering device is disclosed in which multiple notches are formed at two edge portions of a sheet-shaped base member by partially cutting out the sheet-shaped base member. An enlarged portion that is an enlarged part of each notch is formed at a leading end position of the notch. The two edge portions of the base member are wound along a cover portion while facing each other at an inner side of a curved portion of the cover portion. The enlarged portions cancel out a difference in length between the outer and inner sides due to the curved portion of the cover portion, thereby enabling suppression of formation of a wrinkle of the base member. The steering device can have a good appearance and provide a good touch-feeling to a driver when the driver holds the steering device in a state where the heater is covered by a skin portion.

  • Publication number: 20150344061
Abstract: A steering and a method of manufacturing the steering are disclosed. In the steering, a heater is used in which a heating wire is fixed to a surface of a porous sheet having a density equal to 30±5 kg/m3 and a number of cells equal to 8±2 cells/25 mm, as the heater to be fixed in the cover portion. The heater is would around a rim core metal and placed in a cavity. The cover portion that integrally covers the rim core metal and the heater is molded by closing a mold and injecting a synthetic resin material into a cavity.

  • Publication number: 20150235029
Abstract: The malfunction of a system caused by data managed by system firmware is prevented. A firmware ROM 100 is provided with a code area, a default area, and variable areas. Data (CV) fundamental to pre-boot created by a UEFI are written to the variable area. Global variables (GV) defined by the UEFI and data (UV) created by an OS are written to the variable area. The variable area is a recording area capable of being write-locked in the firmware ROM. The UEFI write-locks the variable area after completion of the pre-boot. Thus, the rewriting of CV by the OS can be prevented.

  • Patent number: 9030589
Abstract: An image sensor comprises a plurality of pixels, and each pixel having: a plurality of photoelectric conversion units configured to receive light fluxes that pass through different exit pupil regions of an optical system disposed on an object side of the image sensor and accumulate charges, respectively; a separation portion configured to separate the photoelectric conversion units; and setting means configured to selectively set an electric potential of the separation portion to any one of a plurality of electric potentials. Signals can be separately read out from the photoelectric conversion units. Taking an electric potential of a separation portion that separates the plurality of pixels as a reference potential, the plurality of electric potentials include first to third electric potentials; higher than the reference potential, lower than the reference potential, and higher than the reference potential and lower than the first electric potential.

  • Patent number: 9000931
Abstract: A noise processing apparatus measures a first potential difference signal, between a first electrode and a second electrode that is used as a reference electrode, and measures a second potential difference signal, between the second electrode and a third electrode that is arranged on the steering unit in the apparatus. The apparatus calculates the difference between the intensities of the first potential difference signal and the second potential difference signal calculated at the predetermined intervals. The apparatus corrects the first potential difference signal or the second potential difference signal by using the calculated difference such that the intensities of the first potential difference signal and the second potential difference signal are canceled out.

  • Publication number: 20150034622
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a steering wheel. Turning portions are alternately formed in a longitudinal direction by way of heater wires of heating portions that are fixed to a skin body main body formed in a belt shape. Of the turning potions, on an outer circumferential side of an arc of a rim portion main body, central turning portions in a plurality of arrays are formed so as to be displaced from each other in a longitudinal direction of the rim portion main body. Among the turning portions, on an inner circumferential side of the arc of the rim portion main body, lateral turning portions are formed in such a manner that a dimension in the longitudinal direction of the rim portion main body is smaller in length than that of a respective one of turning pattern portions of the central turning portions.
