  • Patent number: 6885681
Abstract: A bit rate converter capable of avoiding slip of data in a memory for use in bit rate adjustment is disclosed. A phase comparator compares a write address and a read address of the memory to produce a phase difference. The write address is ahead of the read address in the memory. A stuffing rate controller selects one of a plurality of preset fixed stuffing rates depending on the phase difference. A stuff pulse inserter inserts a stuff pulse into readout data from the memory at the selected stuffing rate. When normally operating, a normal fixed stuffing rate is selected. When the phase difference is small than a lowest threshold value, a higher fixed stuffing rate is selected. When the phase difference is greater than a highest threshold value, a lower fixed stuffing rate is selected.

  • Patent number: 6053473
Abstract: A coupling means comprises a first retainer and a second retainer. The first and second retainers are fastened to a first annular groove and a second annular groove of a valve stem respectively, and they are fixed by an energizing action in the vertical direction effected by a second elastic member. The first retainer is energized upwardly by a first elastic member provided on a lower side of the first retainer, and it abuts against the lower surface of a projection of a plunger. In this arrangement, the plunger is displaced downwardly while pressing the first retainer. Thus, the valve stem is moved downwardly together with the first retainer.

  • Patent number: 5978395
Abstract: A light transmitting circuit of a light wave length multiplexing apparatus comprises a LD module 2 including a semi-conductor laser device, a temperature control circuit 3 and a driving current generating circuit for providing the semi-conductor laser device with a driving current. A temperature control circuit 3 generates a temperature error signal, when the difference between a temperature monitor signal and a temperature set signal is too great, that is, while the wave length is not normal. The temperature error signal is input to a LD driver 1, a bias circuit 4 or a light amplifier 6, and the light output signal stops. The light transmitting circuit has no influence on the output signal of the light transmitting circuit of a remaining wavelength for the light wave length multiplexing operation, when the temperature of the semi-conductor laser device differs significantly the temperature set value because of the set-up process or a failure.

  • Patent number: 5739934
Abstract: It is the objects of the invention to increase the degree of freedom of channel selecting and to decrease kinds of elemental hardwares. In a transmitter, the wavelengths of lightwaves of respective channels are different from each other by the aids of wavelength control units, and channel IDs are inserted as the overhead signals of respective channels by channel marker generating units, before the electrical signals are converted into lightwave signals. In the receiver, in order to obtain a desired channel from WDM channels, wavelength tunable filters are swept by filter control circuit, and filters, which receives lightwave signals, are found. Then, the channel ID is extracted from the overhead signal of the transmission frame in the state of an electrical signal. The channel ID thus obtained is compared with an exact and desired ID by a channel ID comparison unit. If the two aforementioned IDs do not coincide, the above mentioned operations, involving sweeps of the wavelength tunable filters, are repeated.

  • Patent number: 5630399
Abstract: A fuel injection system includes a vane-type fuel pump. The fuel pump has a first bypass passage with a first pressure relief valve for relieving pressurized fuel from a discharge passage downstream of a check valve to the discharge passage upstream of the check valve so that excess pressure in the discharge passage downstream of the check valve can be relieved to the discharge pressure upstream of the check valve. Therefore, fuel leakage through a fuel injection valve can be prevented for avoiding possibility of formation of overrich mixture even upon hot start condition.

  • Patent number: 5540633
Abstract: A control device for a variable displacement engine, coupled with an automatic transmission, for an automobile, wherein the control device controls cylinders depending on the driving condition. The control device changes working cylinders without changing the number of working cylinders during the shift operation of the automatic transmission by detecting that the automatic transmission is going to shift. When the control device changes working cylinders without changing the number of working cylinders, the control device controls cylinders so that cylinders which are non-working before the changing work after the changing, and controls cylinders so that a non-working cylinder is not followed by another non-working cylinder in the firing order of the case of all cylinders are working.

  • Patent number: 5271362
Abstract: A two-stroke engine comprising a spark plug arranged at the center of the inner wall of the cylinder head, and a fuel injector arranged on the periphery of the inner wall of the cylinder head. A depression extending from the point beneath the spark plug to the point beneath the tip portion of the fuel injector is formed on the top face of the piston. When the engine is operating under a light load, fuel is injected by the fuel injector only once toward the depression, and conversely, when the engine is operating under an intermediate load, fuel is injected twice. Namely, a first injection is carried out when the piston is at a lower position, and a second injection is carried out when the piston is at a higher position, to thus direct fuel toward the depression.
