Abstract: An opening and closing device for a trunk lid of a vehicle includes a link mechanism mounted between the trunk lid and a vehicle body such that both the front side and the rear side of the trunk lid can be opened. A first connecting portion of the link mechanism is connected with the trunk lid and has a rear side connecting portion pivotably connected to the trunk lid and a front side connecting portion pivotally and detachably connected to the trunk lid. A second connecting portion of the link mechanism is connected with the vehicle body and has a rear side connecting portion pivotably connected to the vehicle body and a front side connecting portion pivotably and movably connected to the vehicle body. A hinge mechanism is mounted between the rear side of the trunk lid and the vehicle body such that the rear side of the trunk lid can be pivotally and detachably connected to the vehicle body.

Abstract: An additive for a carbonaceous solid-water slurry which excels preeminently in the ability to disperse a finely powdered carbonaceous solid in water and, when used only in a small amount, permits production of a carbonaceous solid-water slurry which possesses high concentration, exhibits high fluidity, and precludes change of viscosity due to aging, a method for the production of the additive, and a slurry composition are provided.

Abstract: A sun-roof housing comprises a main body formed into a U-shaped configuration with two corners and having a first gutter portion therealong and pair of laterally spaced rail portions for guiding a roof member, a cut-out portion formed at each of the corner by which the first gutter portion is divided into discontinuous segments, and a cover having a second gutter portion defined by an inner side wall and an outer side wall and set to be fixed to each corner of the main body in such a manner that the second gutter portion is located in the cut-out portion so as to be in fluid communication with the separated segments and the inner side wall is in fluid tight engagement with each corner of the main body.

Abstract: In the television broadcasting system called letter box method, it is proposed to transmit an image having a larger aspect ratio than that of the existing broadcasting system by using some of the scanning lines of the existing broadcasting system, and transmit some additional information signal in the remaining portion. An offset value applied to the additional information signal at the transmission side must be removed completely at the reception side. Accordingly, at the reception side, in the scanning line in which an offset reference signal indicative of the offset value is transmitted, the offset reference value and a DC level reference value of the scanning line are detected, and these values are retained until a next offset reference signal is detected.

Abstract: A guide rail device of a sun-roof comprises a guide rail portion formed into a U-shaped configuration and including a first lengthwise portion, a second lengthwise portion which is in parallel therewith, a connecting portion provided between each of ends of the first and second lengthwise portions so as to be perpendicular thereto, a first corner for the connection of both the first lengthwise portion and the connecting portion, and a second corner for the connection of both the second lengthwise portion and the connecting portion, a pair of continuous guide groove device formed in the guide rail portions for guiding shoe device on which a roof panel is mounted, and an upstanding wall provided at each corner in such a manner that the wall is outside of the sliding range of each of shoes which are moved by the cables.

Abstract: A sunroof assembly includes a housing secured to the inner side of a roof panel to surround an opening, a guide rail attached to each of opposing sides of the housing, a shoe disposed in the guide rail so as to be freely slidable longitudinally of the vehicle, a sliding panel connected to the shoe via a cam member for opening and closing the opening of the roof panel, and a driving source for sliding the shoe along the guide rail longitudinally of the vehicle, wherein a pin provided on the shoe is capable of moving in a cam groove of the cam member. One end of a link is pivotally attached to the pin of the shoe, and the other end is pivotally attached to one end of a lever member. The latter is slidably connected to a bracket, which is secured to the cam member and the sliding panel, so as to be relatively movable longitudinally of the vehicle in operative association with the shoe.
