  • Publication number: 20120147592
Abstract: Provided is an electronic package (PG) which is made without using screws or double-sided adhesive tapes, so cost can be reduced and the manufacturing process can be made simpler. This is done by configuring the electronic package (PG) so that a backlight chassis (10) thereof includes anchoring claws (11) for fixing a mounted substrate (21) onto itself. A lighting device (backlight unit (49)) and a displaying device (liquid crystal display device (69)) are provided with this electronic package (PG).

  • Publication number: 20120113164
Abstract: A liquid crystal data calculation section forms, on the basis of input image data, liquid crystal data to display an image on a liquid crystal panel. In at least one example embodiment, an LED data calculation section forms, on the basis of the input image data, LED data for adjusting an amount of light of an LED backlight. An LED control section controls an amount of an output current of an LED power source on the basis of the LED data, and includes a protection function of limiting the amount of the output current so that the amount of the output current does not exceed a predetermined upper limit. In a case where the amount of the output current of the LED power source is reduced to the upper limit by the LED control section, a liquid crystal transmittance correction section corrects the liquid crystal data and increases transmittance so as to compensate reduction in luminance of the backlight.

  • Publication number: 20110317094
Abstract: In a backlight device (2), a substrate (21) on which LEDs (22) are mounted is fixed to a bottom section (32) of a case (31) from the outside of the case (31) with the LEDs (22) fitted in openings (32a) in the bottom section (32) of the case (31). As a result, that face of the rear surface of the substrate (21) which excludes a portion on which driver circuits (23) are mounted is in contact with outside air, and this allows heat generated by the LEDs (22) to be dissipated to the outside air through the substrate (21). Thus, the backlight device (2) can dissipate the heat of the LEDs (22) without requiring a conventional heat dissipating mechanism (heat dissipating plate, heat pipe, heat sink, and cooling fan) constituted with a large number of parts to be mounted below the LEDs (22). As a result, the backlight device (2) is reduced in thickness, weight, and cost, with a reduction in light-emitting efficiency of the LEDs (22) minimized.

  • Patent number: 7703655
Abstract: In a frictional spot joining where plural metal members lapping over are jointed with a joining device comprising a rotating tool, a receiving tool disposed on a rotational axis of the rotating tool and a drive device to rotate and move the rotating tool in a pushing direction, a holding member is provided on a side of the receiving tool, which has a restriction portion to restrain a movement of the receiving tool in a direction perpendicular to the rotational axis, and the joining device is moved by a moving device such that the receiving tool is disposed at the restriction portion. Accordingly, the rotational runout of the rotating tool can be restrained effectively with a simple structure of a properly small-sized rotating tool and receiving tool.

  • Patent number: 7562803
Abstract: In a friction spot joint structure, a first plate member is pressed against a second plate member by using a rotary tool and a receiving member. A concave portion is formed by a rotating pin portion of the rotating tool, with an interface between the first plate member and the second plate member remained. In this time, the first and second plate members are allowed to plastic-flow, so that an annular bulging portion of the second plate member raised into the first plate member is formed around the concave portion.

  • Patent number: 7523851
Abstract: In the third step of joining of the metal members, the pressing force of the rotational tool under rotation is maintained at the third pressing force that is smaller than the second pressing force until a specified period of time elapses after the tip of the pin portion of the rotational tool has reached the specified point that is at a distance from the joining face. Accordingly, the proper plastic flow of the metal member can be generated and thereby the joining strength with a sufficient period of time of agitation can be ensured, by maintaining a high temperature enough to soften the metal member and by preventing the rotational tool from coming into the metal member too deeply or from penetrating the metal member.

  • Patent number: 7360677
Abstract: In a spot joining method and apparatus, pressing force of a rotating tool is maintained at a first pressing force, the frictional heat due to the rotation of the rotating tool is generated on a surface of an aluminum plate, and the aluminum plate is softened by this frictional heat, so as to ensure the centering of a pin portion of the rotating tool. Thus, even if the pin of the rotating tool is short, a stable joining position can be obtained, so that the aluminum material can be prevented from accumulating on the rotating tool, the appearance of joining surfaces can be prevented from deteriorating, and the sufficient joining strength can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 7199452
Abstract: A semiconductor device in which semiconductor chip(s) is or are mounted onto substrate(s) incorporating patterned wiring and the entirety or entireties has or have been sealed with resin(s), wherein by forming electrically conductive pattern(s) for shielding at end face(s) at top(s) of substrate(s) and attaching such electrically conductive pattern(s) to region(s) of ground plane pattern(s) on circuit board(s) of apparatus(es) which is or are provided with such semiconductor device(s), it is possible to shield semiconductor device(s) even without use of shield case(s). In such case, by applying material(s) possessing good shielding characteristics, e.g., gold plating, over electrically conductive pattern(s), it is possible to increase sensitivity with respect to electromagnetic noise and improve shielding effect (anti-electromagnetic-noise effect).
