  • Publication number: 20080029360
Abstract: An automatic clutch mechanism that allows the feel of gear shifting to be readily transmitted to a rider through a pedal. The automatic clutch mechanism shifts gears while disengaging a clutch in conjunction with one pedal operation. A transmission effects a gear shift in conjunction with a pedal operation. The clutch includes an elastic member, and an engaging portion for bringing the transmission and an engine into engagement with each other by the elastic reaction force of the elastic member. The elastic member has a gradient-decreasing range in which the gradient of a change in elastic load with respect to deformation of the elastic member decreases as the deformation increases. The gradient-decreasing range is included in the use range of the elastic member determined by operation of the clutch.

  • Publication number: 20070184662
Abstract: The carrier (10) for double-side polishing has a base material 10a the material of which is stainless steel (SUS) , for example, as is before, and the base material 10a is coated with a coating layer 10b of a material having a hardness higher than that of the base material 10a. The coating layer 10b is desirably coated uniformly without variations in thickness and not warped easily, and the material for the coating layer 10b of the double-side polishing carrier 10 is desirably any one selected from diamond-like carbon, a nitride film, a sapphire film and a titanium nitride film. For production of the double-side polishing carrier 10, a double-side polishing carrier 10? having been used for polishing is prepared first. The used carrier 10? is coated with the coating layer 10b. The invention can suppress the progress of abrasion of the double-side polishing carrier, and can provide satisfactory thickness accuracy, film thickness distribution accuracy, and surface roughness.

  • Publication number: 20070031894
Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide a method for detecting nerve stem cells/progenitor cells among a tissue or a mass of cells as constituted of a plurality of cell species, and a method for screening for a drug functioning as a nerve differentiation factor or the like by using the above-mentioned detection method. It was found in this invention that the expression of the NC1 gene was high in undifferentiated nerve stem cells and said expression decreased with an advance of differentiation. Furthermore in this invention, by using the NC1 gene, the product thereof (NC1 protein) and the base sequences or the amino acid sequences thereof, antibodies or the like, it became possible to detect nerve stem cells/progenitor cells by way of various methods, so that a novel method for screening for a drug functioning as a nerve differentiation factor or the like was provided.

  • Publication number: 20060244862
Abstract: In an embodiment of the present invention, a maximum value detection circuit and a minimum value detection circuit respectively detects maximum value peaks and minimum value peaks in which CRI included in a text signal of teletext broadcasting indicates “1” or “0”. A reference timing generation circuit calculates a reference timing using the maximum and minimum value peak so as to identify a phase of a sampling clock. The reference timing is a start timing of the sampling clock. Further, a pulse generator generates a sampling clock using a pre-registered cycle with the sampling clock reference timing as a reference.

  • Publication number: 20060057645
Abstract: The object of the present invention is to detect and select insulin-producing cells capable of proliferating, and further to differentiate/proliferate insulin-producing cells and precursory thereof, or cells related thereto. The present invention was made by finding three species of novel genes by detecting genes specifically expressed in pancreases of PHHI patients which are regarded as a model of spontaneous proliferation of pancreatic ? cells, and searching for base sequence data bases. According to the present invention, proliferating insulin-producing cells can be detected using these genes, gene products or gene sequences by, for example, Northern analysis or RT-PCR. Furthermore, these genes can be differentiated into insulin-producing cells by introducing these genes into appropriate cells in genetic engineering manner.

  • Publication number: 20040192567
Abstract: A stream of particles of a cleaning agent is ejected against an object to be cleaned so that the particles collide with a surface of the object. The cleaning agent includes particulate bodies made of gelatin or animal glue, and containing water to impart viscosity and elasticity, and stick-free fragments held on an outer surface of each particulate body. The particulate bodies maintain their viscosity and elasticity by retaining the water so that the cleaning agent can capture and remove foreign material adhering to the surface of the object.
