Abstract: A filling system for an electronic cigarette (10) is disclosed in which a nozzle (38) of a liquid dispenser (80) contains a plunger (62) which is biased by a spring (60) into a closed position in which liquid is prevented from flowing through the nozzle (38). In use the nozzle (38) is inserted into an open end (42) of a liquid reservoir (34) for an electronic cigarette containing an air tube (32). The plunger (62) engages with the end of the air tube (32) blocking the air tube (32) and opening the liquid flow path through the nozzle (38). The arrangement of the plunger (62) and nozzle (38) is such that operation of the plunger (62) only occurs when the nozzle (38) engaged within a liquid reservoir (32). A membrane (96) can be provided to prevent leakage from the liquid reservoir (34) when the nozzle (38) is disengaged.

Abstract: A shower assembly. The assembly may include a shower device including a device housing defining an inlet communicating with an inlet chamber, an outlet and a waterway communicating between the inlet chamber and the outlet, the device housing further defining a receptacle having a closed end and an open end, the inlet chamber being behind the closed end, the waterway extending along the receptacle from the closed end toward the open end; and a second device supportable in the receptacle. The outlet may define an outlet plane, and the second device may include a housing providing an outlet, the outlet being one of aligned with and positioned forwardly of the outlet plane when the speaker is supported in the receptacle. The assembly may further include a magnetic connecting structure operable to releasably connect the second device and the shower device.

Abstract: Methods are provided for synthesizing high purity niobium or rhenium powders by a combustion reaction. The methods can include: forming a combustion synthesis solution by dissolving in water an oxidizer, a fuel, and at least one base-soluble, ammonium salt of niobium or rhenium in amounts that yield a stoichiometric burn when combusted; and heating the combustion synthesis solution to a temperature sufficient to substantially remove the water and to initiate a self-sustaining combustion reaction.

Abstract: Fishing lure assemblies and related methods are provided. A representative fishing lure assembly incorporates: a primary prey member configured as fish prey of a first type; and a secondary prey member, configured as fish prey of a second type, attached to the primary prey member; wherein the first type and the second type are different types of fish prey. A representative method for catching fish includes: providing a fishing lure assembly having a primary prey member and a secondary prey member; disposing a barbed end of a first fishing hook at least partially through the primary prey member; attaching a fishing line to the first fishing hook; and casting the fishing lure assembly into a body of water.

Abstract: The disclosed technology includes a pet collar that can be configured to determine its geolocational position and evaluate that position with respect to the geo-fence of a predetermined, geo-fenced “safe” zone. If the collar determines that its position is inside a safe zone but is near the geo-fence, the collar can be configured to provide a warning correction. If the collar determines that it is outside a predetermined safe zone, the collar can also be configured to provide a stronger correction to discourage the pet from continuing away from the safe zone. The collar can also be configured to guide the pet back to the safe zone such as by varying the strength and/or type of correction provided based at least in part on the distance of the collar from the geo-fence.

A session manager executing on a server may establish a plurality of sessions with a web application for a user via a web socket of the session manager. The plurality of sessions may share a first session identifier. The session manager may track, by via a web socket container established for the first session identifier, the plurality of sessions. The session manager may detect a log off by the user from one of the plurality of sessions. The session manager may send a log off event to others of the plurality of sessions tracked via the web socket container, responsive to the detection.

One apparatus includes a processor and a memory that stores code executable by the processor. The code is executable by the processor to detect a first edge swipe performed by a first set of user fingers on a first object on a first touch screen of a computing device. The code is further executable by the processor to move the first object from the first touch screen to a second touch screen of the computing device in response to detecting the first edge swipe. Methods and computer program products that perform the functions of the apparatus are also disclosed.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for full duplex DOCSIS cable modem echo cancellation with training. During reception of downstream signals, echo effects on downstream signals may be determined, with at least some of the echo effects corresponding to concurrently transmitted upstream signals. Echo cancellation corrections may be determined based on the determined echo effects, and the echo cancellation corrections may be applied during processing of the downstream signals. The echo cancellation corrections may include one or both of ACI (adjacent channel interference) cancellation corrections and ALI (adjacent leakage interference) cancellation correction. The echo cancellation may include or be based on preforming echo cancellation training, during active communication and based on one or both of the downstream signals and the upstream signals.

Abstract: A contractor bidding system gets initial bids with line items. The line items are combined to create a bid package template using line items from each of a plurality of initial bids from different bidders. Each trade can have a number of different items that can be included in the bid. Using the example of painting, for example, there can be supplies, stripping, masks, and the like. Other items might be included in the bid or excluded from the bid or alternates to the bid. The bid template can select which items are included in the bid or excluded from the bid so that when the final bids come they all include or exclude the same items.
