  • Publication number: 20170254340
Abstract: An airfoil for use in a turbomachine includes a pressure sidewall and a suction sidewall coupled to the pressure sidewall. The suction sidewall and the pressure sidewall define a leading edge and an opposite trailing edge. The leading edge and the trailing edge define a chord distance. The airfoil further includes a root portion, and a tip portion. The tip portion extends between the pressure sidewall and the suction sidewall such that the tip portion is substantially perpendicular to each sidewall. The tip portion includes at least one planar section and at least one oblique section that forms a recess within the tip portion. The at least one oblique section extends from the at least one planar section towards the root portion along the chord distance. The tip portion is configured to reduce airfoil wear during contact with a surrounding casing.

  • Patent number: 9716874
Abstract: A source video comprising 2D image frames is acquired, and an image frame including two or more motion vectors describing motion in the image frame is obtained, wherein each of the motion vectors is associated with a region of the image frame. A parameter is calculated for the following: (a) a lateral speed of the image frame, using the motion vectors, and (b) a direction of motion of the image frame, using the more motion vectors. A deformation value is generated using an algorithm that uses both of the parameters, and is applied to the image frame to identify a modified image frame. The modified image frame is blended with a bridge frame that is a non-solid color and different from the modified image frame, to generate a blended frame. The direction of motion and velocity of motion parameters are calculated from the motion vectors.

  • Patent number: 9648770
Abstract: A high-voltage, AC power supply for an electrostatic discharge system comprises a chassis shaped to define an interior cavity, a high-voltage transformer for increasing the voltage received from an external power source, and an output connector module in electrical connection with the transformer for delivering the increased voltage to a high-voltage load, such as one or more anti-static bars. The transformer and the output connector are independently mounted onto the chassis within the interior cavity in a spaced apart relationship and are electrically coupled through one or more flying lead connectors in order to facilitate assembly. During operation, a resistive damping component in the output connector module regulates the output voltage and secondary current delivered to the load in order to render the power supply less susceptible to dielectric breakdown from partial discharge.

  • Patent number: 9426442
Abstract: A source video comprising a sequence of 2D image frames is acquired, and an image frame that includes two or more motion vectors that describe motion in the image frame is obtained from the source video, wherein each of the motion vectors is associated with a region of the image frame. A respective parameter is calculated for each of the following: (a) a lateral speed of the image frame, using the two or more motion vectors, and (b) a direction of motion of the image frame, using the two or more motion vectors. A deformation value is generated by applying an algorithm that uses both of the parameters, and the deformation value is applied to the image frame to identify a modified image frame. The modified image frame is blended with a bridge frame that is a non-solid color and is different from the modified image frame, to generate a blended frame. The direction of motion and velocity of motion parameters in the calculating step are calculated only from the motion vectors input along with the image frame.
