  • Patent number: 8657438
Abstract: Significantly faster state transitioning time between the optimal optical density for viewing 2D Movies as 3D movies through Continuous Adjustable 3Deeps Filter Spectacles can be achieved by using multiple layers (multi-layer) of electronically controlled variable tint materials to fabricate the right and left lenses of the 3Deeps spectacles. The use of multi-layered lenses may result in as much as a 50% decrease in transition time between states. The invention also relates to Multi-Use Electronically Controlled Continuous Adjustable 3Deeps Filter Spectacles that house within a single spectacle frame several layers of optoelectronic material in which each layer of electronically controlled relates to a different method of viewing.

  • Patent number: 8657439
Abstract: Continuous Adjustable Pulfrich Filter Spectacles are provided with lenses with continuously changeable optical densities, so that viewing of 2D movies is optimized for visualization in natural 3D. Method and means are disclosed for the continuous Adjustable Pulfrich Filter Spectacles to perform two independent optimizations to achieve optimized 3Deeps visual effects on 2D movies. First they compute the optical density setting of the lenses for optimal viewing of 2D movies as 3D. Then they continuously render the lenses of the spectacles to these optical densities optimized for characteristics of the electro-optical material from which the lenses of the spectacles are fabricated. The invention works for both 3DTV and 3D Cinema theater viewing.

  • Patent number: 8568030
Abstract: A utility bag having a closure arrangement coupled with opposing first and second panels of the utility bag. The first closure member coupled to the first panel at about an entrance of the utility bag. The first closure member includes a pair of parallel bulbous elements which form a longitudinal channel parallel to the entrance of the utility bag. A second closure member includes a third bulbous element having an interfacing surface complementary with an interfacing surface of the longitudinal channel to form an overlapping closure arrangement. Counterpart strips of hook/loop fasteners coupled to complementary interfacing surfaces associated with the first and second closure members are used to maintain the utility bag in a closed state. The bulbous elements may be formed from deformable materials disposed in sleeves which surround the entrance to the utility bag.

  • Patent number: 8378245
Abstract: A push-to-trip mechanism is provided for a handle assembly for an electrical switching apparatus, such as circuit breaker. The handle assembly includes a casing coupled to the exterior of the circuit breaker housing over the push-to-trip button of the circuit breaker. The push-to-trip mechanism includes an actuating member at least partially disposed within an aperture of the casing. The actuating member is movable between an actuated position corresponding to the actuating member actuating the push-to-trip button, and an unactuated position corresponding to the actuating member not actuating the push-to-trip button. A resilient element biases the actuating member toward the unactuated position. The push-to-trip mechanism is operable from the exterior of the handle assembly casing, thereby enabling the push-to-trip button of the circuit breaker to be actuated, without removing the casing.

  • Publication number: 20120124298
Abstract: A method, system, and computer usable program product for local synchronization in a memory hierarchy in a multi-core data processing system are provided in the illustrative embodiments. A request to acquire a reservation for a reservation granule is received at a first core. The reservation is acquired in a first local cache associated with the first core in response to a cache line including the reservation granule being present and writable in the first local cache. A conditional store request to store at the reservation granule is received at the first core. A determination is made whether the reservation remains held at the first local cache. The store operation is performed at the first local cache responsive to reservation remaining held at the first local cache.

  • Publication number: 20110249092
Abstract: Optimal control of 3Deeps Action Specs (also called 3Deep Viewing Spectacles in previous patent applications) for viewing motion pictures filmed in 3D with a visual effect of 3D requires calculation of a single motion vector that characterizes the direction and speed of motion for each motion picture frame. This invention discloses the calculation of the characteristic motion vector or motion estimation value from temporal redundancy information that is stored in the compressed video file bit stream. The principles of this invention can be used with any compressed video file that incorporates temporal redundancy for compression, such as MPEG.
