  • Patent number: 7976159
Abstract: Continuous Adjustable Pulfrich Filter Spectacles are provided with lenses with continuously changeable optical densities, so that viewing of 2D movies is optimized for visualization in natural 3D. Method and means are disclosed for the continuous Adjustable Pulfrich Filter Spectacles to perform two independent optimizations to achieve optimized 3Deeps visual effects on 2D movies. First they compute the optical density setting of the lenses for optimal viewing of 2D movies as 3D. Then they continuously render the lenses of the spectacles to these optical densities optimized for characteristics of the electro-optical material from which the lenses of the spectacles are fabricated. The invention works for both 3DTV and 3D Cinema theater viewing.

  • Patent number: 7937503
Abstract: An apparatus for maintaining a limit value of a resource for use in a concurrent limit checking system comprising: a resource having an associated limit value; a plurality of request handlers having access to a plurality of sub-limit values, wherein the sub-limit values when summed equal the limit value and wherein each request handler is operable to check a request value of a request for consuming the resource against its associated sub-limit value, in order to determine whether the request can be satisfied. The apparatus comprises a coordinator, responsive to the first request handler determining that the first request cannot be satisfied, for generating a coordination request comprising a coordination request value required to satisfy the first request, a receiver for receiving a coordination response from the second request handler; and an updater for updating the sub-limit values in accordance with the coordination request value.

  • Publication number: 20110043753
Abstract: Significantly faster state transitioning time between the optimal optical density for viewing 2D Movies as 3D movies through Continuous Adjustable 3Deeps Filter Spectacles can be achieved by using multiple layers (multi-layer) of electronically controlled variable tint materials to fabricate the right and left lenses of the 3Deeps spectacles. The use of multi-layered lenses may result in as much as a 50% decrease in transition time between states. The invention also relates to Multi-Use Electronically Controlled Continuous Adjustable 3Deeps Filter Spectacles that house within a single spectacle frame several layers of optoelectronic material in which each layer of electronically controlled relates to a different method of viewing.

  • Patent number: 7565153
Abstract: A method and system for delivering location specific information to a receiver without the receiver having to transmit its location. The method includes self-determining a location of a receiver and receiving a signal comprising information pertaining to a wide geographical area. The method further includes selectively extracting, from the signal comprising information pertaining to a wide geographical area, geographic location specific information that only applies to a self-determined geographic location of the receiver. The method may also include broadcasting a signal to a wide geographic area, wherein information in the signal is tagged to specific geographic locations. The system includes at least one receiver comprising a locator for self-determination of geographic location and a discriminator for extracting appropriate location specific information.
