Abstract: A signature generation and verification system including a signature generation apparatus and a signature verification apparatus is provided. Based on signer certification information possessed by a signer, the signature generation apparatus generates a digital signature and verification data corresponding to a given electronic document and outputs the set of the digital signature and the verification data as signature data. Upon receipt of the electronic document and the signature data, the signature verification apparatus verifies the digital signature using the verification data to verify the integrity of the electronic document. As needed, the signature verification apparatus performs user identification ex-post facto by authenticating that the signer certification information from which the verification data was generated belongs to a legitimate user without knowledge of the signer certification information.

  • Patent number: 8443201
Abstract: The present invention captures user's biometric data during enrollment and converts it by a given conversion parameter to create a template. It creates verification information for the conversion parameter, and enrolls it in an authentication server together with the template. The conversion parameter is stored in an IC card or the like for issuance to the user. During authentication, the authentication server verifies that the authentication terminal knows the conversion parameter, using conversion parameter verification information. Next, the authentication terminal converts user's biometric data newly captured by a conversion parameter to create matching information, and transmits it to the authentication server. The authentication server matches the matching information with the template to determine whether the user is a principal.

  • Patent number: 8433922
Abstract: In additional enrollment of a template in a biometric authentication system, the template is automatically enrolled on the basis of a plurality of authentication results to assure a user's convenience and security. A post-migration authentication server receives a first template and a second template from a post-migration authentication terminal, performs authentication on the basis of the comparison result between the received first template and the user's preliminarily first enrolled template, and provisionally enrolls the first template and the second template. It repeats the reception, authentication, and provisional enrollment and calculates a match probability from a plurality of comparison results of the provisionally first enrolled templates, determines whether or not to store a second enrolled template on the basis of the match probability, and automatically enrolls the second template in the post-migration authentication server.

  • Patent number: 8340361
Abstract: A biometric authentication system, authentication client terminal, and biometric authentication method are provided to reduce an expected value of the number of inputs of biometric data for authentication, while effectively preventing forgery. In a biometric authentication system, prior probabilities of enrolled users un and non-enrolled user u0 are previously set. 1:N matching is performed between feature data of a claimant v and matching feature data. The matching score is calculated for each enrolled user un. A ratio of the likelihood v=un to the likelihood v?un is calculated for each enrolled user un using the calculated matching scores. Posterior probabilities of the enrolled users un and non-enrolled user u0 are calculated, using the likelihood ratios, and the prior probabilities of both the enrolled users un and the non-enrolled user u0. Then, determination is made by comparing each posterior probability with a first threshold.

  • Patent number: 8320640
Abstract: In a biometrics authentication system inputting biometric information and outputting a user ID, speedup of 1:N matching on the side of server is achieved when cancelable biometrics authentication is realized in which matching is carried out. During registration, similarity of a feature to a dummy feature is searched and the feature is transformed by using a transform parameter corresponding to a nearest neighboring dummy feature. The transformed feature and a group ID are transmitted to the server and the server registers the transformed feature at the group in a DB. During authentication, like the registration process, similarity search of a feature is carried out and the feature is transformed by using transform parameter corresponding to a nearest neighboring dummy feature. The transformed feature and group ID are transmitted to the server. The server executes 1:1 matching between a template a the group in the DB and the transformed feature.
