Abstract: The authentication server authenticated by a public key certificate at the time of authentication generates a difference parameter, transforms a template by the difference parameter to create a temporary registration template, and transmits the difference parameter to a tamper resistant device. The tamper resistant device generates a temporary parameter from the held transformation parameter and the difference parameter. A client terminal transforms feature using the temporary parameter, and generates temporarily-transformed feature. An authentication server receives the temporarily-transformed feature, and verifies whether the temporary registration template is in agreement with the temporarily-transformed feature.

Abstract: The present invention captures user's biometric data during enrollment and converts it by a given conversion parameter to create a template. It creates verification information for the conversion parameter, and enrolls it in an authentication server together with the template. The conversion parameter is stored in an IC card or the like for issuance to the user. During authentication, the authentication server verifies that the authentication terminal knows the conversion parameter, using conversion parameter verification information. Next, the authentication terminal converts user's biometric data newly captured by a conversion parameter to create matching information, and transmits it to the authentication server. The authentication server matches the matching information with the template to determine whether the user is a principal.

Abstract: A personal authentication system using biometrics information. The system orders, when an characteristic element in the biometrics information (such as a characteristic point in a fingerprint) can be expressed with two types of information (such as, for instance, a coordinate values for a characteristic point in a fingerprint and a local partial image), the characteristic points using one type of information (for instance, local partial image) as label information, and outputs other type of information (such as coordinate values) as key information according to the order.

Abstract: A personal authentication method is provided for authenticating a user by cross-relation between an enrolled image and a verification image of biometric information of the user. Upon registration of the biometric information, the method generates a filter for scrambling the image and an inverse filter thereof, and applies the filter to the enrolled image generated from the biometric information to generate a registration template which is then stored to a memory. Upon authentication of the user, the method applies the inverse filter to the verification image generated from the biometric information collected from the user, and then verifies the identity of the user based on cross-relation between the verification image after application of the inverse filter and the registration template.

Abstract: Upon registration, a client extracts plural feature points and information (identification information) by which each of the feature points can be identified, from a user's fingerprint, and randomly generates a transformation parameter for each feature point to transform the coordinates and direction. The transformed identification information (template) is transmitted to an authentication server and stored in a memory. The identification information and transformation parameters of the feature points are stored in a memory medium of the user. Upon authentication of the user, the client extracts feature points from the user's fingerprint, and identifies the feature points by the identification information in the memory medium. The client transforms the identified feature points by reading the corresponding transformation parameters from the memory medium, and transmits the transformed information to the authentication server.

Abstract: Secret information only a user can know is encrypted and a decryption key is stored in a biometric information sensor. The biometric information sensor has a secret information decryption unit, a secret information display unit for presenting the secret information to the user, a biometric information detection unit for detecting that biometric information is presented to a biometric information input unit, and an alarm notice unit for issuing an alarm to the user if the biometric information is detected before the secret information is presented.

Abstract: When biometric information is registered, master helper data is created from user's biometric information and is saved in an IC card. When a user is registered in an authentication server, a password is created and registered in the server, the master helper data is converted to create helper data corresponding to the password, and the helper data is saved in an authentication terminal. When a user is authenticated, the authentication terminal generates an authentication password from the helper data and newly acquired user's biometric information, sends the generated authentication password to the authentication server, and the authentication server compares the authentication password with a registration password to authenticate the user.
