  • Publication number: 20120005736
Abstract: In the client, a feature quantity extraction unit extracts a feature quantity from biometric information of a user. A feature quantity conversion unit converts the feature quantity by a one-time parameter. In the first server, a parameter DB stores a parameter in association with the ID. A data generation unit generates data based on the parameter corresponding to the ID transmitted from the client. In the second server, a template DB stores a template to which the feature quantity of the biometric information of the user is converted by the parameter, in association with the ID. A template conversion unit generates a one-time template by converting the template corresponding to the ID transmitted from the first server. Then, a match determination unit compares the converted feature quantity transmitted from the client or the data transmitted from the first server with the one-time template to determine whether they match or not.

  • Patent number: 7936905
Abstract: A personal authentication method is provided for authenticating a user by cross-relation between an enrolled image and a verification image of biometric information of the user. Upon registration of the biometric information, the method generates a filter for scrambling the image and an inverse filter thereof, and applies the filter to the enrolled image generated from the biometric information to generate a registration template which is then stored to a memory. Upon authentication of the user, the method applies the inverse filter to the verification image generated from the biometric information collected from the user, and then verifies the identity of the user based on cross-relation between the verification image after application of the inverse filter and the registration template.

  • Publication number: 20100315201
Abstract: In a biometrics authentication system inputting biometric information and outputting a user ID, speedup of 1:N matching on the side of server achieved when cancelable biometrics authentication is realized in which matching is carried out. During registration, similarity of a feature to a dummy feature is searched and the feature is transformed by using a transform parameter corresponding to a nearest neighboring dummy feature. The transformed feature and a group ID are transmitted to the server and the server registers the transformed feature at the group in a DB. During authentication, like the registration process, similarity search of a feature is carried out and the feature is transformed by using transform parameter corresponding to a nearest neighboring dummy feature. The transformed feature and group ID are transmitted to the server. The server executes 1:1 matching between a template a the group in the DB and the transformed feature.

  • Patent number: 7840034
Abstract: Upon registration, a client extracts plural feature points and information (identification information) by which each of the feature points can be identified, from a user's fingerprint, and randomly generates a transformation parameter for each feature point to transform the coordinates and direction. The transformed identification information (template) is transmitted to an authentication server and stored in a memory. The identification information and transformation parameters of the feature points are stored in a memory medium of the user. Upon authentication of the user, the client extracts feature points from the user's fingerprint, and identifies the feature points by the identification information in the memory medium. The client transforms the identified feature points by reading the corresponding transformation parameters from the memory medium, and transmits the transformed information to the authentication server.

  • Publication number: 20100106964
Abstract: In registration, a feature array x[i] obtained by client is basis-transformed into array X[i], transformed with a transformation filter array K[i] into a template array T[i] to be registered in the client. In authentication, the feature array y[i] is basis-transformed into an array Y[i] after inversely sorting and applied to filter K by computation V[i]=Y[i]K[i]. The server obtains array e[i]=Enc (T[i]), and the client obtains e?[i]=Enc (?jX[j]Y[j]??ij) and shuffles each elements. The shuffled array e??[i] is transmitted to the server and then decoded to obtain C??[i] which provides determination of whether the feature arrays x and y match with each other or not.

  • Publication number: 20090289760
Abstract: A biometric authentication system, authentication client terminal, and biometric authentication method are provided to reduce an expected value of the number of inputs of biometric data for authentication, while effectively preventing forgery. In a biometric authentication system, prior probabilities of enrolled users un and non-enrolled user u0 are previously set. 1:N matching is performed between feature data of a claimant v and matching feature data. The matching score is calculated for each enrolled user un. A ratio of the likelihood v=un to the likelihood v?un is calculated for each enrolled user un using the calculated matching scores. Posterior probabilities of the enrolled users un and non-enrolled user u0 are calculated, using the likelihood ratios, and the prior probabilities of both the enrolled users un and the non-enrolled user u0. Then, determination is made by comparing each posterior probability with a first threshold.

  • Publication number: 20090070860
Abstract: A template sharing processing is performed between a first authentication server and a second authentication server. A client terminal generates two parameter differences, one of which is sent to the first authentication server, and the other to the second authentication server. The first authentication server transforms an already-registered template with the received parameter difference to create a temporary template and sends the temporary template to the second authentication server. The second authentication server transforms the received temporary template with the already-received parameter difference to create and register therein a further transformed template. A storage medium stores therein only a single master key for generating a parameter.
