  • Patent number: 7415726
Abstract: The present invention provides a computer program product, method and data processing apparatus for reviewing files for potential malware. The computer program product comprises logging code operable to maintain a statistical log having an entry for each file sent for review, each entry being arranged to store a count value indicating the number of times that the file has been sent for review and a value of one or more predetermined attributes relating to the file. Weighting table code is also used to maintain a weighting table identifying, for each value of said one or more predetermined attributes, a weighting indicating the likelihood that a file having that value of the one or more predetermined attributes will be malware.

  • Patent number: 7328126
Abstract: A method and system of monitoring a processing system and for processing a substrate during the course of semiconductor manufacturing. As such, data is acquired from the processing system for a plurality of observations, the data including a plurality of data parameters. A principal components analysis (PCA) model is constructed from the data and includes centering coefficients. Additional data is acquired from the processing system, the additional data including an additional observation of the plurality of data parameters. The centering coefficients are adjusted to produce updated adaptive centering coefficients for each of the data parameters in the PCA model. The updated adaptive centering coefficients are applied to each of the data parameters in the PCA model. At least one statistical quantity is determined from the additional data using the PCA model. A control limit is set for the statistical quantity and compared to the statistical quantity.

  • Patent number: 7237008
Abstract: An anti-virus system provider distributes an e-mail identifying content filtering rule seeking to identify e-mail messages suspected of containing an item of malware from a central source (20) to users (2). This distribution may be by an e-mail message itself which is appropriately signed and encrypted. At the user system (2), the received e-mail identifying content filtering rule is extracted from the e-mail message and added to the content filtering rules (18) being applied within that user system. In this way, malware which is distributed by e-mail may be identified by characteristics of its carrier e-mail rather than characteristics of the malware itself which not yet have been properly analyzed or the mechanisms for detecting such characteristics of the malware itself not yet put in place.

  • Patent number: 7085825
Abstract: An apparatus, method and system to enable dynamic replication of Web servers across a wide area in response to access patterns by Web clients as well as in response to customer requests. The method for dynamically replicating one or more parent nodes on a network in response to a user request by a policy manager. The policy manager transmits the user request to an event module. The event module transmits the user request to a data consistency module, wherein the data consistency module maintains integrity of the data on the parent node. The event system communicates with a resource management module to ensure proper utilization of network resources, and transmits the routing request to a request routing module for appropriately balancing the network load. The request routing module is capable of providing optimal routing based on the network resources.

  • Patent number: 6942196
Abstract: In general, an electrically operated car jack is described. A typical embodiment includes a base frame or housing that is adapted to be placed on the ground underneath the automobile to be lifted. The housing includes motors connected to drive arms connected to a load bridge and plate. The bridge is typically mounted within the drive arms by rods located within slots on the arms enabling the bridge to move upward and downward while being retained within the drive arms. Typically, the motors are operated by the car's battery. The drive arms typically include drive wheels that rotate oppositely and are coupled together by a coupler in an X-configuration that assures the coupler moves uniformly. The motors drive the arms, lifting and lowering the load bridge which lifts and lowers the automobile. The jack can be operated by remote control.

  • Publication number: 20040129567
Abstract: Electrophoretic separation device comprising first and second separation zones for containing first and second separation media, and barrier means, preferably automatically operable, by which fluid communication between the two zones may be reversibly prevented, the barrier means comprising a sealing element which is deformable between two positions to allow or prevent the fluid communication. The sealing element may comprise a flexible sheet carrying the first separation medium. Also provided are apparatus comprising such a separation device, and methods of electrophoretic separation, in one of which a first dimension separation is carried out in a chamber in the absence of any other separation medium, followed by introduction into the same chamber of a second separation medium, adjacent or in contact with the first, the analytes being allowed to migrate from the fist to the second separation medium prior to conducting the second dimension separation.
