  • Publication number: 20180234275
Abstract: Described herein is a modulator-demodulator (modem) that is utilized for improving full duplex communication of a communication system. The modem includes a first digital-to-analog converter (DAC) configured to process data included in a first frequency band (e.g., 5 MHz-85 MHz) and a second DAC configured to process data included in a second frequency band (e.g., 108 MHz to 684 MHz). The modem further includes an uptilt filter configured to tilt a power spectral density of data processed by the second DAC. Moreover, the modem includes a first power amplifier configured to amplify data output by the first DAC, and a second power amplifier configured to amplify data output by the uptilt filter, the first power amplifier operates at a power level lower than a power level of the second power amplifier.

  • Publication number: 20180137199
Abstract: Techniques and systems are provided for selecting, collecting, and storing online social network (OSN) data pertinent to an evidence context. A collection request with content filter parameters, an authentication mode, and a targeted OSN identity is received. A unique content and user perspective is determined to build an OSN connection that is used to asynchronously retrieve targeted OSN data entities in accordance with the content filter parameters. Filtered OSN data is assembled and stored in a modification-controlled repository. An integrity value for certifying the authenticity of stored OSN data is stored in an integrity value repository. Some implementations include methods for targeting information of evidentiary value by repeating a collection request at a timed interval and determining the existence of added, modified, or deleted OSN data from prior retrieval instances.

  • Patent number: 8164241
Abstract: An extension-type spark plug includes an upper terminal stud and a lower terminal stud axially spaced from one another in electrical communication with one another. An upper tubular insulator having a through cavity surrounds at least a portion of the upper terminal stud. A lower insulator constructed of a separate piece of material from the upper insulator has a through cavity surrounding at least a portion of the lower terminal stud. A spring member is disposed between the upper terminal stud and the lower terminal stud and biases the upper terminal stud and the lower member away from one another. The spring member allows the upper terminal stud to move axially under an externally applied force sufficient to overcome the bias imparted by the spring member and maintains electrical communication between said upper terminal stud and said lower terminal stud.

  • Patent number: 8018363
Abstract: In a high-fidelity digital modulator, a mapper is provided to minimize quantization noise, jitter, and cross-talk between multiple digital-to-analog or analog-to-digital converters. The mapper receives a quantized level from a quantizer and maps the quantized level to an output sequence. The mapper includes a table defining multiple sequences corresponding to each quantized level. Each sequence includes two or more symbols, having one of multiple values. The mapper also includes a generator that selects one of the multiple sequences as the output sequence. The last symbol of a first output sequence is equal to the first symbol of the next output sequence and so on. The generator selects the output sequence by alternating between a first and a second sequence for each quantized level received. The generator selects the output sequence by alternating between sequences having a positive and a negative common mode energy for each odd valued quantized level received.

  • Patent number: 7941710
Abstract: A system and method are used to provide uncorrelated code hopping in a communications system. A shift register receives data. The shift register is clocked to shift the data. A scaler performs a scaling operation on the data with a numerical value of active codes. A truncator truncates the scaled data to its seven most significant bits to produce a pseudo random hop number. A code matrix shifter circularly shifts the active codes in a code matrix based on the pseudo random hop number to produce a circularly shifted code. A transmitter transmits the circularly shifted code.

  • Publication number: 20100237305
Abstract: Current pole/mast mounted photovoltaic systems rely on gravity to lower the panel down the mast. The energy derived is typically conducted along a coiled conductor that expands or collapses like a spring inside the hollow mast as the movable device, with the solar panel attached, is raised or lowered for maintenance. Due to the large size and stiffness of the coiled conductor, especially in cold weather, the weight of the movable device may not be sufficient to cause the panel to descend when tension on the supporting cable is released. We have developed a method of pulling the sleeve/ring down the mast/pole as well as up. Over long periods of non-use, the sleeve can freeze in position. This new system aids in freeing it up and is also useful when there is un-even side loading on the sleeve. A winch driven chain or cable, attached to the movable device, extending upward to a top roller then internally downward to the winch and then externally extending back up to the movable device, accomplishes this task.

  • Patent number: 7673192
Abstract: A system and method are used to provide uncorrelated code hopping in a communications system. A multi-bit linear shift register receives data and clocks the data fifteen times. A word assembler receives the shifted data and outputs a fifteen bit word. A mixer mixes the fifteen bit word with an numerical value of active codes to generate a mixed signal. A divider divides the mixed signal to produce a divided signal. A truncator truncates the divided signal to its seven most significant bits to produce a pseudo random hop number. A code matrix shifter circularly shifts the active codes in a code matrix based on the pseudo random hop number to produce a circularly shifted code. A transmitter transmits the circularly shifted code matrix.
