  • Publication number: 20210009479
Abstract: A method for infiltrating a porous preform for a gas turbine engine is provided, which comprises providing a chamber for infiltrating a porous preform. The porous preform is positioned within a slurry confinement fixture within the chamber. A vacuum is created in the chamber. A solvent is added to the slurry confinement fixture until a pressure in the chamber is substantially equal to an equilibrium partial pressure of the solvent. A slurry is added to the slurry confinement fixture. The slurry includes the solvent and a particulate. The pressure in the chamber is increased, and the slurry is urged into the porous preform.

  • Publication number: 20210007919
Abstract: A person support apparatus, such as a bed, cot, stretcher, or the like, includes an exit detection system that has, in some embodiments, multiple user-selectable modes. A first mode issues an alert in response to a static condition being met and the second mode issues an alert in response to a dynamic condition being met. The static condition may be defined by an unchanging boundary that triggers an alert if the occupant's center of gravity crosses the boundary. The dynamic condition may be defined by a changing boundary that triggers an alert if the occupant's center of gravity crosses it. The changing boundary may change based upon the occupant's height, weight, BMI, vital sign, or other characteristic. The changing boundary may also change based upon a position of one or more components of the person support apparatus, such as a siderail or Fowler section.

  • Patent number: 10862163
Abstract: Organosilicon electrolytes exhibit several important properties for use in lithium carbon monofluoride batteries, including high conductivity/low viscosity and thermal/electrochemical stability. Conjugation of an anion binding agent to the siloxane backbone of an organosilicon electrolyte creates a bi-functional electrolyte. The bi-functionality of the electrolyte is due to the ability of the conjugated polyethylene oxide moieties of the siloxane backbone to solvate lithium and thus control the ionic conductivity within the electrolyte, and the anion binding agent to bind the fluoride anion and thus facilitate lithium fluoride dissolution and preserve the porous structure of the carbon monofluoride cathode. The ability to control both the electrolyte conductivity and the electrode morphology/properties simultaneously can improve lithium electrolyte operation.

  • Patent number: 10854018
Abstract: A method for calculating a fare for a transport service is provided. One or more processors receive a plurality of location data points from a computing device associated with a vehicle providing the transport service. The plurality of location data points correspond to a route of travel during performance of the transport service. A determination is made, based on a set of location data points of the plurality of location data points, that the vehicle has potentially driven along a roadway in which a toll is to be assessed as part of the fare. The roadway in which the toll is to be assessed is identified. The amount for the toll is determined for the identified roadway.

  • Publication number: 20200352475
Abstract: Patient support apparatuses include a frame, support surface, and a controller. The controller provides notification to a user of a service event relating to the patient support apparatus. The controller limits functionality of a component of the patient support apparatus based upon a severity of the service event. The controller may also, or alternatively, detect when a control is activated by a user and, in response to such activation, determine whether the patient support apparatus has been marked for use or marked for servicing. If marked for use, the controller responds in a first manner, and if marked for service, the controller responds in a different manner. In other embodiments, a method is provided for determining an order in which multiple patient support apparatuses should be service. In still other embodiments, the patient support apparatus automatically changes to an unusable configuration when in need of high priority service.
