  • Publication number: 20240305626
Abstract: The proposed system and method is directed at a system for generating a GPU-based mobile device signature to enhance the strength of a OTP card authentication signal. The proposed implementation leverages the NFC read capability of contactless OTP cards and WebGL image rendering functionality of mobile browser. An image, or a URL pointing to one, is received, via NFC transmission from a contactless card, for processing by a mobile browser. The output of the mobile browser image processing buffer (WebGL can then be hashed and used as a device identifier for the specific mobile device performing electronic authentication of a transmission source (Read by verifying, with high degree of certainty, the identity of the reading mobile device.

  • Patent number: 12081977
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments may use a contactless card as a secondary form of authentication in a multi-factor authentication for a secure messaging service. The recipient party of a request to initiate a messaging service session (such as a server computing device) may be programmed to use the phone number of the originating device to look up records regarding an identity of a party and their associated phone number as a primary credential and then may require an authentication credential originating from the contactless card as a secondary credential for the initiating party. In some instances, the credential originating from the contactless card is a onetime password that is valid only for a period of time. The recipient party determines whether the onetime password is valid. If both credentials are valid, a secure messaging session may be initiated with the initiating party.

  • Publication number: 20240291666
Abstract: The disclosed system and method is directed to improving operational security associated with One-Time Password (OTP) authentication card. The proposed solution involves incorporating a user-provided data value, such as a Personal Identification Number (PIN) and/or a password, into the cryptographic process flow for the generation of the Message Authentication Code (MAC) associated with a OTP authentication cryptogram. A key operational aspect corresponds to the scrambling of a unique card-stored data such as a shared secret value, with run-time data externally provided by the user. In this way, the proposed system and method incorporates two factors of identification, associated with card-stored and user-known data elements, into an OTP card authentication cryptogram.

  • Patent number: 12067568
Abstract: Disclosed embodiments include aspects that relate to authentication of contactless interactions. Identifying information can be provided from multiple sources. A chip-embedded card can be registered to an individual and include identifying information associated with the information. During a contactless transaction, identifying information can be acquired. An individual's identity can be validated based on identifying information. A chip-embedded card can be read by a card reader at a particular location providing physical presence information. In one instance, identifying information from the chip-embedded card can be compared to other identifying information to determine whether there is a match or mismatch. A confidence score can be computed based on the amount and type of information provided. An individual's identity can be validated when the confidence score satisfies a threshold.
