  • Publication number: 20210097341
Abstract: Described are system, method, and computer-program product embodiments for developing an object detection model. The object detection model may detect a physical object in an image of a real world environment. A system can automatically generate a plurality of synthetic images. The synthetic images can be generated by randomly selecting parameters of the environmental features, camera intrinsics, and a target object. The system may automatically annotate the synthetic images to identify the target object. In some embodiments, the annotations can include information about the target object determined at the time the synthetic images are generated. The object detection model can be trained to detect the physical object using the annotated synthetic images. The trained object detection model can be validated and tested using at least one image of a real world environment. The image(s) of the real world environment may or may not include the physical object.

  • Patent number: 10962457
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for impact testing of a transparent substrate are provided. The apparatus includes a base (110) for receiving the transparent substrate (112), the base having a curved surface (124) about which the transparent substrate is bent by a first fixture (130) and a second fixture (132). An abrasive sheet (136) is disposed between the transparent substrate and an impacting object (138) which is released from above the substrate such that the force from the impacting object causes damage to the transparent substrate while the transparent substrate is bent about the curved surface.

  • Publication number: 20210089387
Abstract: Techniques are provided for remote object store error handling. A storage system may store data within one or more tiers of storage, such as a local storage tier (e.g., solid state storage and disks maintained by the storage system), a remote object store (e.g., storage provided by a third party storage provider), and/or other storage tiers. Because the remote object store may not provide the same data consistency and guarantees that the storage system provides for clients such as through the local storage tier, additional validation is provided by the storage system for the remote object store. For example, when data is put into an object of the remote object store, a verification get operation is performed to read and validate information within a header of the object. Other verifications and checks are performed such as using a locally stored metafile to detect corrupt or lost metadata and/or objects.

  • Publication number: 20210092035
Abstract: In some embodiments, an amount of aggregated bandwidth consumption for a set of computing devices on a network may be determined for a first time period. An amount of available bandwidth on the network may be determined for the first time period. A ratio of the amount of aggregated bandwidth consumption to the amount of available bandwidth may be determined. A bandwidth threshold may be determined based on the ratio. A rate limit for a first computing device (of the set of computing devices) may be set based on a comparison of the bandwidth threshold to bandwidth consumption of the first computing device.

  • Publication number: 20210061106
Abstract: A system and method for monitoring a motor of a vehicle system monitor operating conditions of the vehicle system and determine whether the operating conditions of the vehicle system match designated operating conditions. Responsive to determining that the operating conditions of the vehicle system that are monitored match the designated operating conditions, an electrical signature representative of an electric current supplied to the motor of the vehicle system is examined and damage to one or more of the motor of the vehicle system or a mechanical coupling of the motor to one or more of a wheel or axle of the vehicle system is identified based on the electrical signature that is examined.

  • Publication number: 20210057039
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems and methods of using machine learning analysis to stratify the risk of spontaneous preterm birth (SPTB). In some variations, to select informative markers that differentiate SPTB from term deliveries, a processed quantification data of the markers can be subjected to univariate receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis. A Differential Dependency Network (DDN) can then applied in order to extract co-expression patterns among the markers. In order to assess the complementary values among selected markers and the range of their relevant performance, multivariate linear models can be derived and evaluated using bootstrap resampling.

  • Patent number: 10928998
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for configuring automatic playback settings on a media playback device. A graphical user interface displays automatic playback settings and receives selections of customized settings for automatic playback. The settings can include context granularity for automatic playback, limiting autoplay to when the media playback device is connected to a wireless network, and activating an audible notification when automatic playback of media content is beginning. An initial queue of media content is selected for playback on the media playback device. The system ascertains whether autoplay is enabled for a particular situation. If autoplay is enabled, the system automatically generates a queue of media that is related to the initial queue and initiates playback on the media playback device after the initial queue concludes.

  • Publication number: 20210050107
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to medical treatment management. Medical data associated with a user is received. A medical condition of the user is identified based on the medical data. Object data of a plurality of objects in a vicinity of the user is received. The object data is analyzed to determine an identity and characteristics of each object of the plurality of objects. The plurality of objects are compared to medical tools in a medical database using the characteristics within the object data. A subset of objects matching to respective medical tools are then identified. A medical procedure utilizing at least one object of the subset of objects to address the medical condition is identified. A recommendation is then transmitted that the medical procedure should be used to address the medical condition using the at least one object.
