  • Publication number: 20230123300
Abstract: Systems, methods, and storage mediums storing methods of natural capital measurement are described. A region of influence for the area whose natural capital is to be measured is determined and segmented into a plurality of segments. A land assessment model, including a system dynamics model and a spatially explicit model, is generated for the region of influence by training one or more machine learning algorithms to classify land use categories for the segments and to determine statistical relationships between state variables and properties of the segment. A flow sequence for simulating a transport of materials between the plurality of segments is executed to update the land assessment model. Health indicators for the natural capital of the area are generated using the updated land assessment model.

  • Patent number: 11576990
Abstract: The present invention provides a breathing assistance apparatus that has a convenient and effective method of cleaning internal conduits inside the apparatus. The breathing assistance apparatus is preferably a gases supply and humidification device. The cleaning method is a method of disinfection that is automated so minimal training is required to disinfect in particular an internal elbow conduit within the device. It is therefore not necessary to dismantle the gases supply and humidification device, therefore, inadvertent damage to the internal parts of the device is avoided. The present invention also provides a method of disinfecting a heated breathing conduit and a patient interface.

  • Publication number: 20230035355
Abstract: Systems, methods, and storage mediums storing methods of natural capital measurement and soil organic property determination are described. A land intelligence system for an area whose natural capital is to be assessed using one or more health indicators is initialised. A region of influence for the area is determined and segmented into a plurality of segments. A land assessment model, including a system dynamics model and a spatially explicit model, is initialised for the region of influence. A flow sequence for simulating a transport of materials between the plurality of segments is executed to update the land assessment model. Health indicators for the natural capital of the area are generated using the updated land assessment model. Information on soil organic carbon properties for the region of influence is generated by querying pre-defined statistical relationships for the soil organic carbon properties using measured parameters for the region of influence.

  • Publication number: 20230034748
Abstract: A system and method for asset registration and tagging includes determining candidate devices on a network or subnet. Device information is pulled from discovered devices. Device records are stored with device information including device serial number, model number, asset ID and service record information. A QR code is generated and displayed or printed at each discovered device. A device user scans the QR code to supply location information, as well as other user input, which is added to the device information. A device is then registered and an asset tag is printed at the device with instructions to affix it on an exterior for future reference.

  • Patent number: 11554715
Abstract: A school bus stop arm and drive unit therefor are disclosed. The stop an includes a stop sign and a drive unit for moving the stop sign between a retracted position and a deployed position. The drive unit comprises a motor operably coupled to the stop sign, one or more position sensors operable to detect the presence of the stop sign, and a controller for controlling operation of the motor. The controller configured to, monitor one or more operating characteristics of the motor for conditions indicative of an obstruction to movement of the stop sign, monitor the position sensor for a confirmation signal indicative of the presence of the stop sign in the deployed or retracted position, and based on the conditions indicative of an obstruction and the confirmation signal, determine if the stop sign has reached one of the deployed and retracted positions or is being obstructed.

  • Publication number: 20220401687
Abstract: The gases temperature supplied to a patient when the patient is undergoing treatment such as oxygen therapy or positive pressure treatment for conditions such as Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is often measured for safety and to enable controlling of the humidity delivered to the patient. The invention disclosed is related to measurement of properties, particularly temperature (thermistor), of gases flowing through a heated tube, supplying gases to a patient, which utilises the heating wire within the tube.

  • Publication number: 20220370753
Abstract: The breathing assistance apparatus of the present invention includes a manifold that is provided with or retrofittable to gases supply and humidifying devices. The manifold allows gases from an oxygen concentrator to be combined with the flow through a gases supply and humidifying device, most usually air. The combined output of oxygen and other breathing gases (air) is then humidified. The breathing assistance apparatus and manifold of the present invention provides a safe method to add oxygen to the input air stream of a gases supply and humidifying device and reduces the amount of accumulation of oxygen within the gases supply device, reducing fire risk should sparking occur within the device.
