  • Publication number: 20190076631
Abstract: Microdevices with complex three-dimensional (3D) internal and external structures are described. The microdevices are made by a method combining micromolding and soft lithography with an aligned sintering process. The microfabrication method, termed StampEd Assembly of polymer Layers (SEAL), generates microdevices with complex geometries and with fully-enclosed internal cavities containing a solid or liquid. The microdevices are useful for biomedical, electromechanical, energy and environmental applications.

  • Publication number: 20190077620
Abstract: In an example implementation, an example printer system includes a lift, an indicator, a trigger, and a reset mechanism. In an example implementation, a lift is orientable by an amount of media when adjacent to the lift and a trigger has a first portion engageable with the lift at a first orientation of the lift. In an example implementation, the trigger causes the indicator to move towards a first location relative to an aperture defined by an exterior surface in response to engagement with the lift. In an example, the reset mechanism has a first portion engageable with the lift at a second orientation of the lift and the reset mechanism causes movement of the indicator away from the first location in response to engagement with the lift.

  • Publication number: 20190078858
Abstract: A system for active co-boresight measurement includes a detector, first and second steering mirrors, and a controller. The detector detects a portion of a transmission beam emitted by a transmitter and a portion of a received beam received from a remote terminal. The controller instructs the first steering mirror to scan the detected portion of the received beam to determine an alignment position. The controller controls a position of the first steering mirror to align the portion of the received beam with the alignment position on the detector, and controls a position of the second steering mirror to align the detected portion of the transmission beam with a defined position on the detector. The detected portion of the received beam at the alignment position and the detected portion of the transmission beam at the defined position correspond to the received beam and the transmission beam being aligned.

  • Publication number: 20190079368
Abstract: Systems and methods for stabilizing mid-infrared light generated by difference frequency mixing may include a mode locked Er fiber laser that generates pulses, which are split into a pump arm and a wavelength shifting, signal arm. Pump arm pulses are amplified in Er doped fiber. Shifting arm pulses are amplified in Er doped fiber and shifted to longer wavelengths in Raman-shifting fiber or highly nonlinear fiber, where they may be further amplified by Tm doped fiber, and then optionally further wavelength shifted. Pulses from the two arms can be combined in a nonlinear crystal such as orientation-patterned gallium phosphide, producing a mid-infrared difference frequency, as well as nonlinear combinations (e.g., sum frequency) having near infrared and visible wavelengths. Optical power stabilization can be achieved using two wavelength ranges with spectral filtering and multiple detectors acquiring information for feedback control. Controlled fiber bending can be used to stabilize optical power.

  • Publication number: 20190075727
Abstract: A yield model generates a yield map for an agricultural field. A measurement system generates measured indicators that are a measurement or quantification of crop yield in the agricultural field. An observation system generates observed indicators that are spatial agricultural datasets describing observed characteristics of the agricultural field. To generate the yield map, the yield model generates a field array representing the agricultural field. The yield model generates an input array and a yield array by mapping the observed indicators and measured indicators to cells of the field array, respectively. The yield model determines a yield value for each cell of the yield array not including a mapped indicator using information included in the corresponding cells of the input array. The yield model generates a yield map using the determined yield values and the yield values in the yield array.

  • Publication number: 20190081982
Abstract: An endpoint security agent facilitates a security policy on an endpoint computing device. The endpoint agent comprises an engine and one or more plugins that each provide a particular security feature. The endpoint agent receives a policy from a cloud server specifying one or more plug-ins used by the policy and configuration of those plug-ins. The endpoint agent retrieves, installs, and configures the one or more plugins. The endpoint agent updates a communication table with command subscription information obtained from each installed plugin indicating command types subscribed to by each plug-in. When a command is received, a lookup of the command type is performed in the table, and the command is sent to the subscribing plugin.
