    Abstract: In a connector equipped with a rear holder, the rear holder in an open state is coupled with a housing of the connector by a fixing belt. A rear holder mounting device is provided with a cutter and slide bar. The cutter is moved to cut the fixing belt. The slide bar is moved to close the rear holder so that the rear holder is engaged in the housing. Thus, working before mounting the rear holder in the connector can be smoothly carried out. The rear holder, without being damaged or deformed, can be easily mounted in the connector.

    Abstract: A terminal has a base, a pair of caulking pieces integrally extending from the base, and a pair of bent pieces for regulating the movement of the electric wire. The caulking pieces are bent and retain the electric wire from over an insulating cladding thereof. The bent pieces integrally extend from the base and has an inclined surface contacting with the insulating cladding. The electric wire on the base is retained by the inclined surfaces and the caulking pieces at least from three directions. Accordingly, the lateral movement of the electric wire relative to the base when the terminal or the electric wire has been subjected to vibrations is regulated by bent pieces, whereby the impairment of the electric wire is prevented.

    Abstract: An insulation displacement contact terminal has a bottom plate, a pair of side plates, a pair of contact plates, and projecting portions. The side plates respectively extend from both side edges of the bottom plate and oppose each other. The contact plates are respectively partly bent from the side plates and oppose each other. Between the contact plates and the bottom plate are formed gaps. The gaps permit the contact plates to be moved in the direction of their being moved toward each other. Mutually opposing edges of the contact plates define a slot for receiving a clad electric wire therein. The clad electric wire has a core wire and a clothing portion that clothes the core wire. The width of the slot decreases with the movement of the contact plates. With the press insertion of the clad electric wire into the slot, the edges cut into the clothing portions and contact with the core wire. The projecting portions respectively project from the contact plates.

    Abstract: In a terminal, an resilient locking piece (24) is protruded from an upper surface of a terminal (17). The resilient locking piece (24) includes an engaging portion (25) formed at a central portion thereof, and a pair of abutting portions (26) formed on opposite sides of the engaging portion (25). The engaging portion (25) is engaged with a locking hole formed in a connector housing, while the abutting portions (26) are abutted against a surface of the connector housing which is located at a periphery of the locking-hole. Therefore, even if the terminal is pulled outwardly from the connector housing, the resilient locking piece (24) is prevented from being bent backwardly because of the presence of the abutting portions (26). That is, the terminal (17) is securely held in the connector housing without play.

    Abstract: An insulation displacement contact terminal has a pair of side walls, an a pair of pressure contact blades that are mutually opposing and formed by partial bending away from the side walls. When an insulated wire is inserted between the pressure contact blades along a first direction, edges of the pressure contact blades bite into the insulation of the insulated wire so as to make contact with the inner core wire of the insulated wire. The pressure contact blades each have a curved part that is continuous from the side walls, and each curved part has a radius of curvature such that when the pressure contact blades are bent from the side walls and when a pulling force is applied to the insulated wire in a second direction that intersects with the first direction, concentration of bending stress acting on the pressure contact blades is relieved.
