    Abstract: A disc cartridge capable of preventing deformation and outward expanding of a shutter for openably covering windows of casing. The disc cartridge includes a shutter of which distal ends each are inwardly bent into a L-shape and upper and lower cover plates each of which has a U-shaped recess for slidably receiving the step therein and a tongue-like stopper hanging over the recess. The recess and stopper cooperate to constantly slidably interpose each of the steps of the shutter therebetween to prevent any deformation of the shutter.

    Abstract: A tape cassette has a case with upper and lower halves and an open space at the front thereof. A magnetic tape housed in the case is wound around a pair of reels. A brake is slidably mounted on the inner surface of the lower half of the case to prevent the reels from being rotated. Part of a spring is attached to the brake. The spring has free ends and urges the brake in a direction. A device for positioning the spring includes a partition wall on the inner surface of the lower half of the case which partitions the open space from the inside of the case. An independent abutment member on the partition wall abuts the free ends of the spring.

    Abstract: A tape cassette comprises a case including upper and lower halves, each having a pair of parallel side walls and a back wall extending between the side walls, a pair of reels housed in the case on which magnetic tape is wound, and a brake member freely slidably mounted on the inner face of the lower case half, the brake member having a pair of legs which slide on the inner face of the lower case half along the side walls thereof, movable to a position wherein rotation of each of the reels is prevented. A control device is provided for limiting the movement of each of the legs of the brake member in the direction of the width of the case. The control device includes members each of which projects from a respective one of the side walls of the upper case half and is located adjacent to one face of a respective one of the legs of the control device which is opposite to the face thereof which slides on the inner face of the lower case half.

    Abstract: In a magnetic tape cartridge having a detection opening which can be opened or closed with a plug to prevent erroneous erasure of recorded signals on the tape, an indication opening through which the plug can be seen from the outside and a slot through which the plug is positioned as desired are both formed in a first wall of the cartridge housing, and the detection opening is formed in a second wall located differently from the first, in such a manner that the indication opening or slot is selectively closed by sliding of the plug from one position to the other or vice versa. The plug includes an elastic lock member in sliding contact with the inner surface of the first wall. The first wall has two grooves such that, when the plug is in either position, the lock member fits in the corresponding one of the two grooves. The plug is L-shaped along the inner surfaces of the first and second walls, and the lock member is disposed in a recess formed within the plug.

    Abstract: In a magnetic tape cassette comprising a cassette housing, a lid pivotally connected to the front of the housing to open and close its front opening, and a lock member fitted in one front side portion of the housing and engageable with and disengageable from the inner surface of the lid, a lock-member-biasing spring is accommodated within the thickness of the lock member, with a free end engaged with the housing. The lock member has means with which to press the both end portions of the spring in place. It has also a bulge formed on its side opposite to the recessed side and which is larger in diameter than a pivot by which the lock member is supported by the housing. The bulge is accommodated within a wall opening of the cassette housing.
