  • Patent number: 5460185
Abstract: Apparatus for facilitating balloon catheter exchange in a vascular dilatation procedure using a balloon guidewire emplaced within the vascular system of a patient, and a balloon catheter defining an inflation lumen and a guidewire lumen and being attached at its proximal end to a hub. The apparatus includes a relatively short guidewire extension attached at its proximal end to a handle portion. The handle portion defines structure cooperative with the hub for facilitating sliding movement of the handle portion along the hub while the guidewire extension is at least partially inserted into the guidewire lumen. The handle portion is free to slide over the entire length of the hub and to slide off the hub in both proximal and distal directions. A guide element maintains the handle portion engaged for sliding movement along the balloon catheter. The guidewire lumen is slitted and the handle portion carries a separator for opening the slit in the region of the location of the handle portion.

  • Patent number: 5458921
Abstract: To apply a photoimageable composition to a substrate, such as a printed circuit board, the photoimageable composition is dissolved in a solvent system which is a mixture of propylene glycol monomethylether and ethylene glycol butylether, acetate. The liquid solution is applied to the substrate. Then the photoimageable composition is dried to remove the solvent system and thereby produce a layer of the photoimageable composition on the substrate.

  • Patent number: 5429627
Abstract: Reusable, washable feminine napkins and panty liners have multiple absorbent layers encasing a fluid imperiable layer. The napkin has a side opening pocket for an extra absorbent filler pad. Both the napkin and the panty liner employ a centrally located mounting device which is not connected to the fluid imperiable layer.

  • Patent number: 5370615
Abstract: An improved balloon catheter is disclosed having both the flexibility of a coaxial construction and the advantages of dual lumen construction as well. The proximal section is of relatively rigid dual lumen construction, wherein an inflation lumen and a guidewire lumen extend longitudinally through the proximal section in a generally parallel and side-by-side relationship. A distal section of the balloon catheter is coupled to the distal end of the proximal section and is of a coaxial construction. Near the transition between the two sections, an inner coaxial member defining the distal guidewire lumen is offset from the center of the otherwise coaxial distal section so that the inner coaxial member is substantially aligned with the distal end of the proximal guidewire lumen.
