    Abstract: An inorganic particle-polysiloxane composite comprising inorganic particles having a polysiloxane containing SiR2R3O2/2 and SiR4R5R6O1/2 units grafted to their surface is prepared without mechanical treatment. The inorganic particles have an average particle size of 1-200 nm, the polysiloxane may be bonded to the inorganic particle surface via a siloxane coating layer containing SiR1O3/2 units, and a total of siloxane constituents is 20-20,000 pbw per 100 pbw of the inorganic particles. R1 to R5 are H, alkyl, alkenyl, aryl or dimethylsiloxy group, and R6 is H, alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, dimethylsiloxy, alkoxy or hydroxyl group. The inorganic particle-polysiloxane composite is dispersible in silicone oil, and so a transparent functional silicone material is obtained.
