  • Patent number: 7216626
Abstract: An engine ECU executes a program including the steps of calculating an in-cylinder injector's injection ratio; if the ratio is 1, calculating an amount of cold state spark advance by employing a function f(1) having the engine's temperature as a parameter; if the ratio is 0, calculating an amount of cold state spark advance by employing a function f(2) having the engine's temperature as a parameter; and if the ratio is larger than 0 and smaller than 1, calculating an amount of cold state spark advance by employing a function f(3) having the engine's temperature and the ratio as parameters.

  • Patent number: 7201146
Abstract: An engine ECU executes a program including the steps of calculating an in-cylinder injector's injection ratio; if the ratio is 1, calculating a cold state increase value by employing a function f(1) having the engine's temperature as a parameter; if the ratio is 0, calculating a cold state increase value by employing a function f(2) having the engine's temperature as a parameter; and if the ratio is larger than 0 and smaller than 1, calculating a cold state increase value by employing a function f(3) having the engine's temperature and the ratio as parameters.

  • Patent number: 7143744
Abstract: A throttle opening degree TA is converted to a reference opening area SB based on a map MAPsbta representing the relationship between the throttle opening degree and the opening area in a deposit-free state. An actual opening area SA after the deposit amount is changed is obtained by subtracting an opening area change amount dDS corresponding to a change in deposit amount from the reference opening area SB. Since the opening area change amount dDS is uninfluenced by changes of the engine operational zones, the actual opening area SA is accurately determined. By converting the actual opening area SA to a control throttle opening area TAa based on the map MAPsbta, the control throttle opening degree TAa that reflects the actual opening area with improved accuracy can be detected.

  • Publication number: 20060207240
Abstract: An engine ECU executes a program including the step of performing an operation for rapid catalyst warm-up, under the conditions that an engine is started and rapid catalyst warm-up is necessary, by setting the ratio of fuel injection by an in-cylinder injector to be equal to or higher than that of an intake manifold injector and retarding the ignition timing to a large degree, and the step of performing normal operation under the condition that the catalyst is warmed up to be activated.

  • Publication number: 20060207241
Abstract: An engine ECU executes a program including the step of detecting engine start, the step of detecting, when rapid catalyst warm-up is necessary, the temperature of the engine coolant THW, the step of estimating, when the THW is lower than a predetermined threshold value, the amount of fuel sticking to the wall surface of an intake port and calculating a cold-state increase correction value Q (P) for an intake manifold injector, the step of changing the DI ratio r to satisfy the cold-state increase correction value Q (P), and the step of performing the rapid catalyst warm-up.
