  • Patent number: 7379556
Abstract: A speaker device includes an acoustic capacity unit; an acoustic pipe connected to the acoustic capacity unit; and a driving speaker attached to the acoustic capacity unit. The acoustic capacity unit and the acoustic pipe constitute the Helmholtz resonator, and resonate at a predetermined Helmholtz resonant frequency. On the other hand, the acoustic pipe itself has a resonant frequency. By setting the resonant frequency of the acoustic pipe to be 0.5 to 2.5 octaves higher than the Helmholtz resonant frequency, the speaker device can be obtained which outputs signals of continuous frequency band from the Helmholtz resonant frequency to the resonant frequency of the acoustic pipe.

  • Publication number: 20070127043
Abstract: When generating one file from image data having plural pages, the present invention generates coded data of a background portion that is common to plural pages for sharing the coded data, thereby realizing a file compressed at high compression rate while maintaining image quality. For this, the apparatus reads plural pages. In the page processing, the read page image is separated into a text image and a background image. The background image is divided into predetermined pixel blocks, then comparison is performed with respect to a certain position between one page and a previous page in units of pixel block, and common pixel blocks are separated from page-unique pixel blocks. When reading of all pages is completed, a page image is generated with the text image and the page-unique background image. Thereafter, the background image common to plural pages is linked to corresponding pages for generating one file.

  • Publication number: 20060291687
Abstract: A vehicle having a vehicle-mounted speaker device attached to a spare tire accommodation unit for use has a vehicle-mounted speaker unit, which is fixedly attached to the accommodation unit and radiates sound, and causes an accommodation lid of the accommodation unit to act as a passive vibrating plate to the sound radiated from the vehicle-mounted speaker unit. Since the accommodation unit is used as a sound space, and the accommodation lid is vibrated as the passive vibrating plate, an output sound pressure level can be increased in any arbitrary frequency band. As a result, a sufficient sound pressure level can be secured, and compensated in a frequency band in which the output sound pressure level is conventionally insufficient.

  • Patent number: 7088840
Abstract: A listening device for a hands-free system includes a bone conduction actuator and a holder for holding the actuator. The holder includes a first contact part for contacting the actuator to a body part, a second contact part protruded at a spaced apart location from the first contact part, and a pivot part between the first and second contact parts. The holder is supported such as to be rotatable around a shaft in the pivot part orthogonally to a plane containing the contact parts and the pivot part. Thus, provided is a listening device which uses a bone conduction actuator having a contact part which can be contacted to a surface of a human body with a constant and appropriate pressure so as to achieve a constant level of signal transmission irrespective of the differences in the shape of the body part or the movements of the user.

  • Publication number: 20060072823
Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes a user interface for setting an instruction from a user and is capable of switching a language used in a display screen of the user interface. The image processing apparatus creates text data by determining the language used in the display screen of the user interface and by performing character recognition suitable for recognizing a document of the determined language on read image data. The image processing apparatus also creates a file in which the text data and the image data are associated with each other. Therefore, character recognition is properly performed in the image processing apparatus by automatically selecting the type of the language.

  • Publication number: 20060017812
Abstract: A personal computer is a control device, which provides master camera direction information that instructs a direction of a master camera selected from camera devices to the camera devices including the master camera. Each camera device stores relative position information about the camera itself and the other cameras. The each camera device transforms master camera direction information to slave camera direction information based on relative position information when one of the other cameras is the master camera. The slave camera direction information is that of a direction that allows a camera to follow the master camera as a slave camera. The each camera device controls a rotating mechanism of the camera in accordance with the master camera direction information when it is the master camera, and in accordance with the slave camera direction information when it is not the master camera.
