  • Patent number: 8562068
Abstract: When front side members are bent by a front-rear-directional collision of a vehicle, the front side members come in surface, not point, contact with an adjacent member in the vehicle by a contact surface formed at a contact portion. Accordingly, the front-rear-directional collision load is stably transmitted to a member, such as an adjacent engine, such that it is possible to efficiently improve the effect of distributing and reducing the load in a collision. Further, since the bent front side members stably come in surface, not point, contact with the adjacent member, such as the engine in the vehicle, it is possible to decrease the possibility of unexpected fracturing of the front side members.

  • Patent number: 8550543
Abstract: Disclosed is a vehicle body structure that can improve the absorption performance of a load applied to a vehicle is provided. When a load is applied, the sub-side member retreats as a link member turns. Additionally, the retreat of the sub-side member is suppressed when the link member reaches a termination position of the turning. As the link member turns, the sub-side member can reliably retreat to a target position. The link member can turn to retreat the sub-side member, and simultaneously apply a reaction force against the load. Additionally, the sub-side member can generate a large reaction force against the load after having retreated to the target position. Through the above, the sub-side member can move reliably while generating a reaction force to attenuate the load until the member retreats to the target position, and can generate a large reaction force after the member has retreated to the target position.

  • Patent number: 8529591
Abstract: An anastomotic instrument includes first and second units. The first unit is attached to a distal end portion of an insert section of an endoscope, and has a self-propellable apparatus and an anvil. The second unit is attached behind the first unit, and has a cartridge and a balloon. The insert section with the anastomotic instrument is inserted into the alimentary canal. In the alimentary canal, fluid is sucked out from space enclosed by the first and second unit through a suction port provided in the cartridge, to bring the space into negative pressure. While the alimentary canal is shrunk in the space, the second unit is shifted relative to the first unit. In a state where the shrunk alimentary canal is caught between the first and second units, a cutter resects living body tissue, and staples are struck to join edges of an incision of the alimentary canal.

  • Patent number: 8523273
Abstract: Provided is a vehicle body structure which can improve collision performance. The sub-side member 3 has a deformation cooperative movement portion 7 whose strength is made lower than the deformation suppressing portion 8 on the rear side, at a position ahead of a power unit EG. The sub-side member 3 easily deforms at a position ahead of the power unit EG when the load is applied. The sub-side member 3 can deform in synchronization with the deformation of the front side member 2, in a region ahead of the power unit EG with high strength and a relatively small number of disposition parts. Accordingly, the sub-side member 3 can absorb the load efficiently in cooperative movement with the front side member 2. Additionally, the sub-side member 3 is constructed so as to have a higher strength than the deformation cooperative movement portion 7, on the rear side of the deformation cooperative movement portion 7. Accordingly, the sub-side member 3 sufficiently transmits the load to a rear frame structure structure.

  • Patent number: 8517453
Abstract: When a load caused by a collision is transmitted from the front side of a vehicle, tire cutout portions of front side members are deformed by the load transmitted from the front side of the vehicle. Accordingly, the tire cutout portions of the front side members come into contact with a power unit formed of an engine or the like of the vehicle, switch a transmission path of the load to a direction corresponding to the power unit of the vehicle, and transmit the load to the power unit as a load. The tire cutout portion is formed between two engine mounts. Accordingly, a starting point from which the front side member begins to be deformed is set between the engine mounts that are two supported portions of the power unit, so that the stable bending and deformation of the front side member are controlled. Further, a transmission path of a load toward the power unit is newly formed.

  • Patent number: 8457319
Abstract: There is disclosed a stereo encoding device capable of accurately encoding a stereo signal at a low bit rate and suppressing delay in audio communication. The device performs monaural encoding in its first layer (110). In a second layer (120), a filtering unit (103) generates an LPC (Linear Predictive Coding) coefficient and generates a left channel drive sound source signal. A time region evaluation unit (104) and a frequency region evaluation unit (105) perform signal evaluation and prediction in both of their regions. A residual encoding unit (106) encodes a residual signal. A bit distribution control unit (107) adaptively distributes bits to the time region evaluation unit (104), the frequency region evaluation unit (105), and the residual encoding unit (106) according to a condition of the audio signal.

  • Patent number: 8433581
Abstract: There is provided an audio encoding device capable of effectively encoding stereo audio in audio encoding having monaural-stereo scalable configuration. In this device, a correlation degree comparison unit (304) calculates correlation in a first channel (correlation degree between the past signal and the current signal in the first channel) from the first channel audio signal and calculates correlation in a second channel (correlation degree between the past signal and the current signal in the second channel) from the second channel audio signal. The correlation in the first channel is compared to the correlation in the second channel. A channel having the greater correlation is selected.
