Abstract: A method with quick response time applied to the electronic apparatus is provided. The method includes: providing a storage configured for storing a plurality of images; providing a cache memory configured for temporarily storing decoded images; invoking the images that are previously to and next to the currently displayed image from the storage, decoding the invoked images, and storing the decoded images in the cache memory; receiving an instruction from user input; determining whether the instruction is for displaying a previous image or a next image; and invoking the decoded image of the image from the cache memory and displaying the selected image. A related electronic apparatus is also provided.

Abstract: A method for showing page flip effect when use electronic device enjoy electronic documents, including: when receiving a flip-page instruction, obtain a parameter from a parameter table from a storage unit, the parameter table contains several parameters, each parameter include a first group of coordinates, a content of a flip-page figure and a second group of coordinates; determining a target page according to the flip-page instruction; producing the flip-page figure of the current page according to the first group coordinates and the content; covering a second area of the current page determined by the second group of coordinates with a second area of the target page determined by the second group of coordinates to form a combined page; displaying the combined page. Present invention also provides an electronic device capable of showing a page flip effect.

Abstract: A reflective display device includes a housing, a reflective display unit, an auxiliary display unit, a power supply, a wireless transceiver, a lighting unit, a light sensing unit, a light source control module, an identifying module, and a display control module. The power supply supplies power to the reflective display device and converts ambient light into electrical power and stores the electrical power. The wireless transceiver receives information transmitted from the electronic device. The lighting unit is fixed to the housing and illuminates the reflective display unit. The light sensing unit detects brightness of ambient light. The light source control module turns on/off the lighting unit. The identifying module identifies the type of the information. The display control module selectively controls the information to be displayed on the reflective display or the auxiliary display unit according to the type of the information.

Abstract: An electrophoretic display device includes a common electrode, an electrophoresis layer, and pixel electrodes. The electrophoretic layer includes cavities, with each cavity arranged between one of the pixel electrodes and the common electrode, and comprises suspension fluid, first type charged particles, and second type charged particles. The first type charged particles and the second type charged particles are dispersed in the suspension fluid. Three cavities constitute a pixel unit. The first type charged particles and the second type charged particles in each of the three cavities constituting the pixel unit are one of red, green, and blue particles, and one of yellow, magenta, and cyan particles, respectively.

Abstract: An electronic reader includes a display unit, and a processing unit. The processing unit includes a file retrieving module, a refreshing mode control module, a block setting module, and a display control module. The file retrieving module retrieves one or more shapes or figures, to be displayed for effect, and the content of a new target page when a content updating signal is received. The refreshing mode control module controls the electronic reader to operate in a refreshing mode. The block setting module determines the blocks to be refreshed and the order in which the blocks are to be refreshed. The display control module controls the display unit to firstly update the content of a block with the one or more shapes or figures, and then update with retrieved new content by refreshing the blocks one after another in a predetermined procedural order. A related method is also provided.

Abstract: An electronic reader includes an input unit, a storage unit, a display unit, and a processing unit. The input unit generates a content updating signal in response to user's operation. The processing unit includes a file retrieving module, a mode control module, a block setting module, and a display control module. The file retrieving module retrieves content of an electronic file for displaying on the display screen of the display unit, in response to the content updating signal. The mode control module controls the electronic reader to operate in a refreshing mode in which the display screen is divided into a plurality of predetermined blocks. The block setting module determines one or more blocks. The display control module controls the display unit to update the content at the determined blocks with the corresponding retrieved content by refreshing the determined blocks one after another. A related method is also provided.

Abstract: A device providing illumination by LED includes an illuminating module including a circuit board. The circuit board includes a plurality of LED groups arranged thereon, where each of the plurality of LED groups includes a plurality of LED units connected with each other in series. The plurality of LED units forms an LED matrix, and at least three LED units in each row of the LED matrix belong to different LED groups. Each of the LED units in each column of the LED matrix belongs to a respective LED group. An LED matrix is also provided.

Abstract: An electronic device paired with an infrared remote control, includes a display screen having a display area, at least one infrared emitter, at least one infrared receiver, a prism and a processing unit. A prism is adjacent to the at least one infrared receiver for converging the infrared rays from the at least one infrared emitter and the infrared remote control to the at least one IR receiver. A processing unit is for activating and then deactivating the infrared emitters one after another, identifying operations of a user on the display area by analyzing the interception of the infrared rays emitted from each of the infrared emitters, identifying operations of a user according to the infrared signals from the infrared remote control and executing corresponding functions associated with the operations of the user.

Abstract: A method used in a digital photo frame (DPF) with television function is provided. The DPF has a DPF mode for playing multimedia files stored in a storage and a television (TV) mode for playing TV programs received by a TV receiving module. The method includes: fetching TV program information from a TV program schedule when the DPF is in the DPF mode; detecting whether at least one TV program is airing soon or currently aired at the current time; displaying a TV listing menu prompt containing information on the at least one “airing soon” or “currently aired” TV program; receiving a mode switching signal and changing the operational mode of the DPF to the TV mode; and receiving and playing one of the “airing soon” or “currently aired” TV programs.

The media player comprises a vibration switch that changes its state between an electrically open state and an electrically closed state during the media player is shaken. The media player also comprises a storage unit, a motion state determining unit, a media file determining unit, and a processing unit. The storage unit stores a plurality of media files and a table that defines relationships between shaking levels and the sampling rates of the at least one group of media files. The motion state determining unit determines a duration of the shaking of the media player and the times of state changing of the vibration switch according to signals from the vibration switch and determines a shaking level according to the duration of the shaking of the media player and the times of state changing of the vibration switch.

Abstract: A communication control system includes an electronic device and a communication apparatus paired with the electronic device. The electronic device includes an input unit, a first BLUETOOTH unit, and a dialing control module. The input unit generates commands in response to operations of a user. The dialing control module generates dial information when a dialing command is received, and controls the first BLUETOOTH unit to transmit the dial information to the communication apparatus. The communication apparatus includes a wireless communication unit, a second BLUETOOTH unit, and a dialing module. The dialing module controls the wireless communication unit to dial according to the dial information. The dialing module also controls the second BLUETOOTH unit to transmit real-time dial information and voice signals of the user to the electronic device. A related method is also provided.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a housing defining an opening, a circuit board fixed in the housing, a processor, and a wheel module. The wheel module includes a seat, a cantilevered arm, a wheel rotatably fixed to the cantilevered arm and partially extending out of the opening, an encoder fixed to the cantilevered arm, and a micro switch fixed to the seat. One end of the cantilevered arm is fixed to the seat, and an opposite end is free. The cantilevered arm is deformable so as to enable the free end to actuate the micro switch, when the cantilevered arm is depressed. The actuated micro switch then generates a trigger signal. The encoder is configured to convert the rotation of the wheel to corresponding electrical signals, when the wheel is rotated. The processor controls the electronic device to perform preset functions according to the trigger signal or the electrical signals.

The method includes steps of: receiving an ad transmitted by a server; identifying whether the received ad is a message in a predetermined format; reading a decoding program from a storage unit to decode the received ad if the received ad is messages in the predetermined format; displaying a basic content part and a reply content part after the ad is decoded; receiving a user's reply, generating a reply message includes a reply code corresponding to the user's reply, and sending the reply message.

The method receiving an incoming call decoding the phone number of the incoming call so as to obtain a digit set from the phone number stored in the data storage system. The method further includes determining a call number character of the incoming call and assigning musical notes associated with the numbers of the digit set according to the musical note table. Furthermore, the method includes obtaining corresponding audio clip of each note from an audio clip database and outputting the audio clips with the corresponding rhythm of the call number character of the incoming call through a music output apparatus.

The infrared touch screen includes a touch screen having a first side and an opposing second side, an infrared emitter for emitting infrared light beams toward the light directing element, and a plurality of infrared receivers arranged along the first side of the touch screen. The light directing member is positioned at the second side of the touch screen, and includes an outwardly curved surface facing the infrared emitter and a plurality of reflective slanted surfaces. The curved surface collimates the infrared light beams emitted from the infrared emitter into parallel infrared light beams. The plurality of reflective slanted surfaces are aligned with the respective infrared receivers, and for receiving and reflecting corresponding portions of the collimated parallel beams to the respective infrared receivers. A related device is also provided.

Abstract: An illumination device includes a light sensor, a light-emitting unit, a switch unit and a processing unit. The light sensor is configured for sensing ambient light intensity and providing results based on the sensed light intensity. The switch unit is configured for controlling the electrical connection between the light-emitting unit and a power unit. The processing unit includes a control module and a light adjusting module. The controlling module is configured for turning off the switch unit to cut off the electrical connection between the light-emitting unit and the power unit during the sensing of the light intensity. The light adjusting module is configured for adjusting the brightness of the light-emitting unit according to the results provided by the light sensor. A related method is also provided.
