  • Publication number: 20040194176
Abstract: The present invention was related to the development of a novel, distinct high yielding plant with rapid regeneration ability obtained through screening of the somaclones in a methodical way for fast regeneration in the tissue culture stage itself which was achieved by inventing the plant ‘Kushal’. The plant yield higher herbage with corresponding high essential oil when evaluated with available superior varieties of mint in late planting condition during April when the fields are vacated after the harvest of Rabi crop like wheat, chickpea, coriander etc. Further the suckers required for commercial vegetative planting can be produced even in low land condition as the plant is reasonably tolerant to water logging compared to the best check ‘Kosi’.

  • Publication number: 20040174995
Abstract: Cryptosystem using public key with message much larger than the public key modulus by arranging message into a matrix and encrypting the determinant rather than every element followed by multiplication of the matrix by the encrypted determinant. Private key decryption of determinant of the encrypted matrix provides the inverse, and then multiplication by the encrypted matrix recovers message. Further, a preprocessing permutation of the message defined by a hash of the message or by random numbers helps maintain atomicity of the message.

  • Patent number: 6673749
Abstract: The present invention provides plant growth-promoting activities of natural plant active constituent calliterpenone and its derivatives belonging to the group phyllocladane diterpenoids. These phytochemicals and derivatives exhibit remarkable growth promoting activities on plant roots, shoots and promote seed germination both in monocotyledonous and dicotyledonous plants. These phytomolecules possess the antagonistic activity against allelochemicals of plant growth retardant nature and hence can be used to alleviate their detrimental effects.

  • Publication number: 20030148356
Abstract: The invention provides a novel mutation identified in amyloid precursor protein, which leads to a very aggressive form of Alzheimer's disease. The mutation involves the 43rd codon of amyloid &bgr; peptide (A&bgr;) corresponding to the putative &ggr;42-secretase cleavage site. The novel mutation alters both A&bgr;40 and A&bgr;42 secretion elevating the A&bgr;42/A&bgr;40 ratio by 10-fold in vitro. Furthermore, the main amyloid plaque pathology in brains of these patients is of the diffuse ‘pre-amyloid’ type composed primarily of N-truncated A&bgr;42. Dense-cored plaques although not absent, were significantly reduced. Also, usual sites in brain where A&bgr;40 is predominantly deposited, for instance, in vessels such as cerebral amyloid angiopathy or senile plaque cores, were composed entirely of A&bgr;42 form.
