  • Publication number: 20250118053
Abstract: Systems and methods for visual object detection using explicit negatives. To train an artificial intelligence model with explicit negatives, a data sampler can sample input data from a language-based dataset to select images with annotations. A negative generation engine can generate explicit negatives representing sentences that include contradicting words that are semantically related to the annotations by using an external knowledgebase. A model trainer can minimize the classification loss of positive labels while decreasing the confidence score of the explicit negatives for the artificial intelligence model. The negative generation engine can be optimized to generate next explicit negatives. The artificial intelligence model can backpropagate using positive labels and the next explicit negatives to generate supervisory loss corresponding to the net explicit negatives. The artificial intelligence model can detect objects from an input image.

  • Publication number: 20250119236
Abstract: An interface device distributes data from a plurality of input data streams to a smaller number first data streams, and periodically inserts a set of alignment markers (AMs) into the first data streams. After using the AMs, the interface device removes the AMs and reinserts the AMs at particular positions. A forward error correction (FEC) encoder encodes data corresponding to the first data stream to generate FEC codewords and distributes data from the FEC codewords to multiple outputs streams. Within the output streams, the AMs are located at FEC codeword boundaries and bits of a first AM, among the set of AMs, are spread across multiple outputs stream. A single output data stream is generated based on the multiple output streams of the FEC encoder.

  • Publication number: 20250117299
Abstract: A technique monitors input/output (I/O) and storage ownership takeover activity patterns to detect degraded performance of a highly available and fault tolerant application executing in a multi-site environment. Multiple instances of the application execute in different containers or pods running on virtual machines (VMs) of a compute layer within a containerized (e.g., Kubernetes) clustering configuration that extends across clusters of the sites. A storage layer of the clusters provides shared storage to the pods running on the VMs across the multiple sites. One of the sites is configured as an active storage site configured to receive and service I/O requests from the compute layer. A single instance of the application is active at a time and configured as a “compute owner” of the shared storage to issue the I/O requests to the shared storage.

  • Publication number: 20250116585
Abstract: Embodiments determine wear. One such embodiment obtains, in memory associated with a processor, a finite element mesh representing a first object. For a given node of the obtained mesh, a wear variable is associated and linked to contact constraints associated with the node. A simulation of contact is performed, over movement increments, between the first object and a second object to determine wear at the node. Wear distance is iteratively determined for a given increment using the mesh, the associated variable, and the constraints. A position of the node in the mesh is iteratively updated based on the determined wear distance for the given increment, until the wear distance for each of the increments is determined. The wear at the node is determined based on the determined wear distance for each of the increments. An indication of the determined wear is output.

  • Publication number: 20250117671
Abstract: Methods and systems are described herein for a system that enables individual users or entities to assess high-level concepts expressed in natural language by identifying quantitative evaluation criteria for evaluating the concept. For example, a query evaluation system is provided herein that receives a user's query including natural language, e.g., indicative of a higher-level concept or idea to be deployed. The system may identify quantitative evaluation criteria for evaluating the concept, perform back-testing (e.g., to see how a particular strategy would have performed in the past) and allow the user to create a specific investment portfolio that tracks the original intent of the user. The concept may be tested, and its performance evaluated before deploying it to a user portfolio.
