Abstract: An apparatus comprises a processing device configured to register one or more applications to receive resource state change invocation calls from one or more assets of an information technology infrastructure, to detect resource state changes for the one or more assets of the information technology infrastructure, and to provide, from a given one of the one or more assets of the information technology infrastructure to a given one of the one or more applications, a given resource state change invocation call responsive to detecting one or more resource state changes for the given asset. The processing device is also configured to receive, from the given application, an instruction to initiate one or more reactive actions based at least in part on the detected one or more resource state changes for the given asset, and to apply at least one of the one or more reactive actions to the given asset.

Abstract: Methods, devices, and apparatuses are provided to facilitate a positioning of an item of virtual content in an extended reality environment. For example, a placement position for an item of virtual content can be transmitted to one or more of a first device and a second device. The placement position can be based on correlated map data generated based on first map data obtained from the first device and second map data obtained from the second device. In some examples, the first device can transmit the placement position to the second device.

Abstract: A method of managing positioning reference signal transmission includes: instructing a transmission point to apply a muting pattern regarding transmission of a reference signal including first and second reference signal resources, where a first instance of the first reference signal resource includes one or more first resource elements across one or more first OFDM symbols within a slot, and a second instance of the second reference signal resource includes one or more second resource elements across one or more second OFDM symbols within the slot; and instructing the transmission point to transmit, unmuted, at least one of the one or more second resource elements, of at least one of the one or more second OFDM symbols, despite the muting pattern indicating to mute transmission of the at least one of the one or more second resource elements of the at least one of the one or more second OFDM symbols.

Abstract: A system for reducing total dissolved solids in wastewater can include a vertical reactor that can include a flexible sheet material, where the flexible sheet material can be configured to facilitate the growth and attachment of an algal biofilm. The vertical reactor can include a shaft, where the shaft can be associated with and can support the flexible sheet material, and a drive motor, where the drive motor can be coupled with the shaft such that the flexible sheet material can be selectively actuated. The system can include a fluid reservoir containing a portion of wastewater through which the flexible sheet material is configured to pass as well as a stressor operably configured to stimulate the algae to produce an extracellular polymeric substance. A method of reducing total dissolved solids in wastewater includes moving an algal biofilm through the wastewater and moving the algal biofilm through a gas.

Abstract: A thin transparent layer can be integrated in a head mounted display device and disposed in front of the eye of a wearer. The thin transparent layer may be configured to output light such that light is directed onto the eye to create reflections therefrom that can be used, for example, for glint based tracking. The thin transparent layer can be configured to reduced obstructions in the field of the view of the user.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a service in a network computes an expected information gain associated with rerouting traffic from a first tunnel onto a backup tunnel in the network. The service initiates, based on the expected information gain, rerouting of the traffic from the first tunnel onto the backup tunnel. The service obtains performance measurements for the traffic rerouted onto the backup tunnel. The service uses the performance measurements to train a machine learning model to predict whether rerouting traffic from the first tunnel onto the backup tunnel will satisfy a service level agreement (SLA) of the traffic.

Abstract: A media content steering solution is provided to identify a user query to steer playback of media content that is currently playing or has been played. The user steering query can include a voice request for playing media content that is relatively different from the media content being currently played or having been played. The media content steering solution analyzes the utterance of the user query and uses it to identify such different content that satisfies the user intent contained in the user query.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, devices, apparatus, and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for fast incremental shared constants. In aspects, a CPU may determine/update shared constant data for a first draw call of a plurality of draw calls. The shared constant data, which may correspond to at least one shader, may be updated based on a draw call update for the first draw call. The CPU may communicate the updated shared constant data for the first draw call to a GPU. The GPU may receive, in at least one register, the updated shared constant data from the CPU and configure the at least one register based on the updated shared constant data corresponding to the draw call update of the first draw call of the plurality of draw calls.

Abstract: Techniques for generating formatting tags for textual content obtained from a source electronic document are disclosed. A system parses a digital file to obtain information about characters in an electronic document. The system applies tags to text generated based on the textual content of the electronic document by creating segments of textually-consecutive characters and applying corresponding text formatting style tags to the segments. The system further identifies segments of text overlapping bounding boxes in the electronic document. The system generates textual content including a segment of text and a corresponding hyperlink associated with the segment of text. The system further generates textual content by selectively applying line breaks from the source electronic document in the textual content.

Abstract: In aspects of recorded content managed for restricted screen recording, a wireless device displays digital image content, and a screen recording session captures the digital image content and audio data. The wireless device implements a content control module that determines a device application restricts the screen recording session from capturing the media content. The content control module can then pause the screen recording session for a time duration that the device application restricts the screen recording session, and then resume the screen recording session after a determination that the screen recording session is no longer being restricted. As an alternative to pausing the screen recording session, the content control module can add a start delimiter to indicate a beginning section of the screen recording session being restricted by the device application, and add an end delimiter to indicate an end section of the screen recording session being restricted.

The light source is mounted within the hub and is configured, upon being energized, to emit light in a first direction. Insertion is from location of program start message such that indexed media segments corresponding to second live input stream or second pre-encoded media asset are streamed on disparate live media output stream. Disparate live output stream manifest, generated based on the first or the second instance, is published to content delivery system.

The method includes determining that the representation is linked with a full identity reference for the second service provider in a second hierarchical data structure managed by the second service provider. The method includes accessing the user data at the second hierarchical data structure using the full identity reference. The method includes accessing the service via the lightweight identity reference and using the user data at the first service provider.

Abstract: A compute box includes a communication device and one or more processors. The one or more processors, in response to the communication device being electronically in communication with a flexible content presentation companion device, determine a visible area available on the flexible content presentation companion device as a function of its geometric configuration. The one or more processors format content for presentation on the visible area available on the flexible content presentation companion device and cause the communication device to deliver the content to the flexible content presentation companion device. When the geometric configuration changes, the one or more processors can generate a visible display area adjustment animation to smoothly transfer the content to a new visible area.

Abstract: An information management system according to certain aspects may be configured to generate a snapshot of data relating to a plurality of applications. The system may include a plurality of data agents, wherein each data agent is associated with at least one of a plurality of applications, and data generated by the plurality of applications is stored in a logical volume in primary storage. The system may also include a snapshot manager configured to detect the plurality of applications; check with the plurality of data agents whether the associated applications are in consistent states; obtain a snapshot of the logical volume in response to receiving notifications from the plurality of data agents that the associated applications are in consistent states; and generate mapping information between a particular one of the plurality of applications and a portion of the snapshot relating to the particular one of the plurality of applications.

Abstract: In certain aspects, the disclosure provides soluble heteromeric polypeptide complexes comprising an extracellular domain of an ALK4 receptor and an extracellular domain of ActRIIB. In certain aspects, such soluble ALK4:ActRIIB complexes may be used to regulate (promote or inhibit) growth of tissues or cells including, for example, muscle, bone, cartilage, fat, neural tissue, tumors, and/or cancerous cells. In certain aspects, such ALK4:ActRIIB complexes are can be used to improve muscle formation, bone formation, metabolic parameters, and disorders associated with these tissues, cellular networks, kidney, and endocrine systems.

Abstract: A technique to stop lateral movement of ransomware between endpoints in a VLAN is disclosed. A security appliance is set as the default gateway for intra-LAN communication. Message traffic from compromised endpoints is detected. Attributes of ransomware may be detected in the message traffic, as well as attempts to circumvent the security appliance. Compromised devices may be quarantined. A disposable jump box may be utilized to provide an additional layer of protection against ransomware.
