  • Patent number: 11863806
Abstract: Systems and methods are described to address shortcomings in conventional systems by correcting an erroneous term in on-screen caption text for a media asset. In some aspects, the systems and methods identify the erroneous term in a text segment of the on-screen caption text, and identify one or more video frames of the media asset corresponding to the text segment. The systems and methods further identify a contextual term related to the erroneous term from the one or more video frames. By accessing a knowledge graph, the systems and methods identify a candidate correction based on the contextual term and a portion of the text segment. Lastly, the systems and methods replaces the erroneous term with the candidate correction.

  • Patent number: 11864113
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A data layer at a user equipment (UE) may provide information associated with an uplink message to a modem power manager to determine whether to keep resources which are brought up by the scheduler or to power them off for transmitting the uplink message. For example, the data layer may indicate a radio access technology, a subscriber identifier, and a bearer type associated with the uplink message, which may enable the modem power manager to identify which radios to wake up (e.g., or avoid putting to sleep). Utilizing the information may enable the modem power manager to determine whether the wakeup is related to uplink data, acquire information to support the wakeup with resources indicated by the information, and avoid putting resources to sleep if the scheduled and the unscheduled wakeup resource requirements match.

  • Patent number: 11861352
Abstract: The present concepts may automate and optimize deployment to a cloud computing fleet. Artificial intelligence and/or optimization algorithms may be used to find optimal deployment parameters (e.g., deployment order of computers in the fleet) that minimize deployment time and minimize deployment risk. For example, machine-learning prediction models may be used to generate a shortest path graph problem models a deployment planning problem. Then, optimization algorithms may be used to efficiently find approximations of Pareto-optimal solutions to the shortest path graph problem. Depending on the preferred level of time and risk, one of the solutions may be used to run the deployment.

  • Patent number: 11863521
Abstract: Automated techniques for converting network devices from a Layer 2 (L2) network into a Layer 3 (L3) network in a hierarchical manner are described herein. The network devices may be configured to boot such that their ports are in an initialization mode in which the ports are unable to transmit locally generated DHCP packets. When a network device detects that a neighbor (or “peer”) device has acquired an IP address or has been configured by a network controller, then the port on which the neighbor device is detected can then be transitioned from the initialization mode into a forwarding mode. In the forwarding mode, the port can be used to transmit packets to obtain an IP address. Thus, the network devices are converted from an L2 device to an L3 device in a hierarchical order such that upstream devices are discovered and converted into L3 devices before downstream devices.

  • Patent number: 11860901
Abstract: Techniques for query execution against relational databases using connection pooling are described. According to some embodiments, a query processing service is disclosed that enables users to execute queries against target relational databases implemented by a relational database service. The service receives query requests originated by a client application at a web service endpoint and identifies a connection to a particular target database. In some examples, the query request is a Hyper Text Transfer Protocol (HTTP) message comprising a query to be executed by a target database instance within the provider network. The service transmits the query for execution at the target database via the connection and obtains a query result based on the execution of the query. The service transforms the query result into a format suitable for the client and transmits a query response to the client.

  • Patent number: 11864099
Abstract: A wireless communication system comprises Public Land Mobile Networks (PLMNs) that use Uniform Data Repositories (UDRs) to serve wireless User Equipment (UEs) over wireless network slices. A serving PLMN determines a UE Identifier (ID) for a wireless UE and a slice ID for a wireless network slice. The serving PLMN indicates the UE ID and the slice ID to a Service Communication Proxy (SCP) in the serving PLMN. The SCP selects a UDR in a different PLMN based on the UE ID and the slice ID. The SCP indicates the UE ID and the slice ID to the selected UDR in the different PLMN. The selected UDR in the different PLMN transfers UE information for the UE for delivery to the network element in the serving PLMN. The network element in the serving PLMN controls the wireless network slice for the wireless UE based on the UE information.

  • Patent number: 11861172
Abstract: Systems and methods for performing single I/O writes are provided. According to one embodiment, responsive to receipt of a write operation from a client by a file system layer of a node of a distributed storage system and a data payload of the operation having been determined to meet a compressibility threshold, an intermediate storage layer of the node logically interposed between the file system layer and a block storage media is caused to perform a single input/output (I/O) write operation that persists the compressed data payload and corresponding metadata to support asynchronous journaling of the write operation. The single I/O write operation coupled with the use of a new pool file that maintains a list of available blocks for single I/O write operations and a modified node crash recovery approach allows the write operation to be acknowledged to the client while the journaling is performed asynchronously.

  • Patent number: 11861664
Abstract: Keyword bids determined from sparse data are described. Initially, a portfolio optimization platform identifies which keywords included in a portfolio of keywords are low-impression keywords. This platform trains a machine learning model to generate bids for the low-impression keywords with historical data from a search engine. In particular, the platform trains this machine learning model according to an algorithm suited for training with sparse amounts of data, e.g., a temporal difference learning algorithm. In contrast, the platform uses different models, trained according to different algorithms than the low-impression keyword model, to generate bids for keywords determined not to be low-impression keywords. Once the low-impression keyword model is trained offline, the platform deploys the model for use online to generate actual bids for the low-impression keywords and submits them to the search engine.
