  • Publication number: 20240004766
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for selection of a witness during virtualization system recovery after a disaster event. A recovery plan is configured to identify a witness that is then used to elect a leader to implement the recovery. Various system, and/or network, and/or component failures and/or various loss of function of components of the virtualization system can trigger initiation of the recovery plan. Based on the particular recovery plan that is invoked upon a determination of a network outage, or component failure or loss of function of a component of the virtualization system, a particular witness corresponding to a subset of entities of the particular recovery plan is selected. The witness is used to elect the leader, and the leader initiates actions of the recovery plan. The implementation of the recovery plan includes consideration of the health of components that would potentially be involved in the recovery actions.

  • Publication number: 20240007419
Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method for handling failure at one of several peer centralized components of a logical router. At a first one of the peer centralized components of the logical router, the method detects that a second one of the peer centralized components has failed. In response to the detection, the method automatically identifies a network layer address of the failed second peer. The method assumes responsibility for data traffic to the failed peer by broadcasting a message on a logical switch that connects all of the peer centralized components and a distributed component of the logical router. The message instructs recipients to associate the identified network layer address with a data link layer address of the first peer centralized component.

  • Publication number: 20240007522
Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method of performing load balancing for a group of machines that are distributed across several physical sites. The method of some embodiments iteratively computes (1) first and second sets of load values respectively for first and second sets of machines that are respectively located at first and second physical sites, and (2) uses the computed first and second sets of load values to distribute received data messages that the group of machines needs to process, among the machines in the first and second physical sites. The iterative computations entail repeated calculations of first and second sets of weight values that are respectively used to combine first and second load metric values for the first and second sets of machines to repeatedly produce the first and second sets of load values for the first and second sets of machines.

  • Publication number: 20240007523
Abstract: Systems and methods for peer-to-peer video streaming from an edge data storage device to a browser are described. A surveillance video camera may establish a secure peer-to-peer connection using a first data transfer protocol with a user device. Once the secure peer-to-peer connection is established with the user device, out of band key exchange may occur through the peer-to-peer connection. Then, a shared key may be generated at both the video camera and the user device such that a request for media from the user device may be sent to a relay server over a second data transfer protocol. The video camera may then send an encrypted data file responsive to the media request over the second data transfer protocol to the relay server.

  • Publication number: 20240007955
Abstract: Methods and systems to manage an environmental condition, such as power consumption and/or temperature, of an integrated circuit (IC) device by controlling a bandwidth of a packet-based communication interface of the IC device (e.g., a PCIe interface). Bandwidth may be controlled by controlling delay between packets or controlling delay of a handshake signal. Delay may be increased when the environmental condition reaches a first threshold. Delay may be reduced when the environmental condition falls to a second threshold. Bandwidth may be regulated with proportional-integral control provided by a firmware controller and/or hardware. Bandwidth may be separately controlled for upstream and downstream paths based on bandwidth utilization of the respective paths. Bandwidth control may utilize codes stored in selectable registers. The IC device may include a field programmable gate array (FPGA) and may be configured as an accelerator card.

  • Patent number: 11863382
Abstract: Systems and methods described herein provide a co-managed configuration service. A network device stores parameters for the co-managed configuration service. The parameters identify exposed services for an enterprise network that uses devices from a network service provider. The network device receives, via a customer portal, a vendor-agnostic change request for the enterprise network. The change request includes a user role and a change request name for one of the exposed services. The network device authenticates the change request based on the user role and the change request name and retrieves vendor director information for an SDN device implementing the configuration change. The network device invokes, in response to the change request, the configuration change for the enterprise network based on the vendor director information.

  • Patent number: 11863379
Abstract: In an example, a container cluster management system includes a first node, a second node and redistribution manager. The first node has an allocated external IP address, and comprises a utilization monitor to provide data relating to a utilization of the first node. The redistribution manager may receive the data relating to the utilization of the first node from the first node and determine whether the utilization of the first node has exceeded a predetermined threshold. Responsive to the utilization exceeding the predetermined threshold, the redistribution manager may reallocate the external IP address from the first node to the second node.

  • Patent number: 11864220
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided to address issues related to poor radio conditions (e.g., SS-RSRP/SS-RSRQ/SS-SINR) associated with poor coverage for user devices (e.g., user equipment (UEs)) positioned between Synchronization Signal Block (SSB) beams emitted from a cell tower. Specifically, Next Generation Node B (gNB) may identify the location of the user devices (reporting poor signal strength due to poor radio conditions) based on angle or arrival and/or timing advance. Systems and methods further include controlling a phase and amplitude of the SSB beam(s) serving the user device to improve the signal strength of these user devices experiencing poor radio conditions, until the signal strength is within/above target threshold value(s). In this manner, user coverage is improved, with the option to prioritize premium subscribers, without the need for employing a more expensive alternative (e.g., building additional cell sites and towers) for improving user coverage.
