Abstract: Systems and techniques for transmitting data stream to a client include transmitting a data segment from one of a plurality of nodes of a continuous media server to a client according to a scheduler on the node. A system includes a plurality of data processing devices, each data processing device coupled with at least one storage device. Each data processing device includes a scheduler to schedule transmission of the data segment to a client in sequence with other data segments, and a module to transmit the data segment to the client.

Abstract: A bottom-gate thin film transistor includes a gate electrode, a gate insulating layer and a microcrystalline silicon layer. The gate electrode is disposed on a substrate. The gate insulating layer is made up of silicon nitride and disposed on the gate electrode and the substrate. The microcrystalline silicon layer is disposed on the gate insulating layer and corresponds to the gate electrode, in which a contact interface between the gate insulating layer and the microcrystalline silicon layer has a plurality of oxygen atoms, and concentration of the oxygen atoms ranges between 1020 atoms/cm3 and 1025 atoms/cm3. A method of fabricating a bottom-gate thin film transistor is also disclosed herein.

A riser card is perpendicularly connected with the motherboard, wherein the riser card has a second series of I/O ports at an edge thereof. A housing encloses the motherboard and the riser card, wherein the housing has a plurality of openings, exposing each of the first series of I/O ports and the second series of I/O ports so as to form an L-shaped I/O port area on a flat surface thereof.

Abstract: Admission of a new disk stream is based on the probability of overcommitting disk bandwidth based on parameters related to the disk. These fixed parameters are determined either by retrieval from the disk or by investigating the disk. Probability functions of the disk parameters may be obtained. Exemplary disk parameters may be average disk seek time, probabilistic determination of the amount of data exchange during a single exchange, and probabilistic information about reading versus writing.

Abstract: The present invention provides fan with an inrunner motor. The fan includes a fan frame, a rotor and a stator. The fan frame includes a base. The rotor includes a hub, a bushing and a magnetic member, wherein the magnetic member sleeves on the bushing. The stator is disposed on the base and coupled with the rotor, and the stator includes a shaft through the bushing, wherein an end of the shaft is fixed on the base.

Abstract: A computing system for managing site security through a communication device includes a mobile communication device, a notification, and the communication device. Using BLUETOOTH technology, the mobile communication device communicates with and activates the communication device and the notification. The communication device detects any noteworthy event and captures visual data accordingly, and transmits the visual data to the mobile communication device. The notification generates visual and audio alerts. A related method and storage medium with instructions for performance of the method also provided.

Abstract: A fan includes an impeller and an inner rotor motor. The inner rotor motor connects to the impeller and drives it to rotate. The inner rotor motor includes a bushing, a shaft, a magnetic conducting shell, a magnetic element and a stator. The shaft passes through the bushing and is coupled to the impeller. The magnetic conducting shell is coupled to the shaft and telescoped to the bushing. The magnetic element is disposed around outside of the magnetic conducting shell. The stator is disposed around outside of the magnetic element.

Abstract: A three-phase opposite rotating motor of a fan comprises a stator having a three-phase coil set without a core, a first rotor and a second rotor. The number of the poles of the first rotor is unequal to the number of the poles of the second rotor. The ratio of the number of solenoids of the three-phase coil set and the number of the first poles of the first rotor is 3:4, and the ratio of the number of solenoids of the three-phase coil set and the number of the second poles of the second rotor is 3:2, to ensure the motor works normally in an opposite rotating operation.

Abstract: A PCI-E automatic allocation system which essentially consists of a detection module and a switch module, wherein the detection module detects the states of the logic signals on the ground pins of a first PCI-E slot with large lane width and a second PCI-E slot with small lane width in a computer system, to determine whether the first and second PCI-E slots hold any inserted expansion card; if the detection module detects an inserted expansion card in the first PCI-E slot rather than the second PCI-E slot, a switch control signal output is generated, to control the switch operation performed by the switch module, that is, transferring lane availability from the second PCI-E slot to the first PCI-E slot, with a view to enhancing the use of PCI-E lanes, speeding up data transmission, and overcoming a known drawback of PCI-E buses, that is, inflexible design.

Abstract: A device recognition circuit for initiating a computer system includes an adapter module and a control module. The adapter module is capable of connecting a peripheral interface card the adapter module having I/O ports, the I/O ports carry present signals generated by the adapter module. The control module having general purpose input/output (GPIO) pins for receiving the present signals, wherein the control module determines an expansion type of the adapter module according to the present signals. The embodiment of present invention also provides a method of recognizing a device for initiating a computer system.

Abstract: A power switching circuit includes a flip-flop for receiving an abnormal power-off signal output by shutdown software of an electronic device, and outputting a trigger signal when a power supply of the electronic device is in an abnormal shutdown status and the abnormal power-off signal. The power switching circuit further includes a switching device for receiving a first control signal indicating that the backup battery is providing power and a second control signal indicating that the power supply is providing power, and outputting a backup battery power supply signal when the abnormal power-off signal is transmitted from the flip-flop or a power supply signal when the abnormal power-off signal is not transmitted from the output end of the flip-flop. The power switching circuit further includes a voltage regulator device for switching the backup battery or a power supply to provide power.

Abstract: A magnetic bearing system for a rotating machine is disclosed. The magnetic bearing system provides a non-contacting radial rigid support for the rotating machine by employing two magnetic assemblies each being formed by stacked annular magnets. The magnetic assemblies are mounted separately on a shaft of the rotating machine and a shaft hole provided on the stator seat of the rotating machine for containing the shaft.

Abstract: A modularized circuit board bus connection control method and system is proposed, which is designed for use with a computer platform, such as a blade server, for providing a bus connection control function when connected to a modularized circuit board, such as a server module; which is characterized by the capability of using an enable signal activating voltage from a built-in enablement setting circuit in the blade server for bus connection control, such that if the server module is well electrically connected to the blade server, the bus will be switched to a connected state; and otherwise, if poorly connected, the bus will be maintained in the disconnected state to isolate the server module from the blade server. This feature can help prevent the blade server to waste much time and system resource in handling the condition of poor electrical connection and thus ensure the overall system performance.

Abstract: A semiconductor structure and a testing method thereof are provided. The semiconductor structure comprises a substrate, a well, an isothermal heating layer, a first dielectric layer, an interconnection material layer and a second dielectric layer. Wherein, the well is disposed in the substrate, the isothermal heating layer is disposed over the well, the first dielectric layer is disposed between the well and the isothermal heating layer, the interconnection material layer is disposed over the isothermal heating layer, and the second dielectric layer is disposed between the isothermal heating layer and the interconnection material layer. The isothermal heating layer is adapted for maintaining the interconnection metal layer at a predetermined testing temperature so that the testing result can be precise and the testing time can be reduced. Moreover, a low level current can be used as the testing current.

Abstract: A data stream recorder system, for multi-stream recording and retrieval of utilizes a number of gateways, each for sending and receiving packets containing streaming multimedia content data at real-time rates via a packet data network. A session manager communicates via the network with source client devices and receiver client devices, to establish and control recording and retrieval sessions. The manager assigns sessions to the gateways for the sending and receiving of the packets to and from client devices. Content is distributed across storage devices associated in storage nodes. Each of the gateways receives packets containing content data at real time rates during a recording session and distributes the received packets from the session across all of the storage nodes. A scheduler of each respective storage node distributes content data from packets distributed to the respective storage node, across all of the digital storage devices of the respective storage node.
