    Abstract: A high density electrical connector for electrically connecting an exterior mating connector and a circuit board, mainly comprises an insulative housing, a shell, a plurality of contacts and a spacer. The insulative housing receives the contacts therein and has a pair of two-stage locking means which each includes a first stage and a second stage. The spacer forms a pair of latching portions and defines a plurality of cavities therein. By means of gradual cooperation between the two-stage locking means and the latching portions, the contacts are gradually oriented and guided in two stages by the cavities of the spacer to be precisely inserted into a plurality of apertures formed on the circuit board without resulting in a buckling of the contacts.

    Abstract: An IC card connector (10) including an insulative housing (12) having a plurality of cavities (14) extending therethrough in a vertical direction for receiving a corresponding number of contacts (16) therein. Each contact (16) includes a surface mounting tail (40) which is pressed against by a corresponding standoff (42) formed on a bottom surface (38) of the housing (12). A significant space (36) is formed on the underside of the housing (12) generally below the cavities (14) for allowing mounting plural tiny components (102) thereunder on the PC board (100). A stopper (48) is formed on the bottom portion of each cavity (14) for supportable engagement with the corresponding downward flexed contact (16) when the IC card is pressed on the housing (12).

    Abstract: An electrical filtered connector (10) comprises a unitary housing (12) defining a cavity (14) for receiving a complementary connector therein. A plurality of horizontal passageways (18) are disposed in the housing (12) lengthwise for receiving a corresponding number of contacts (20) therein. A plurality of vertical apertures (28) are disposed corresponding to and communicative to the passageways (18) respectively for receiving a corresponding number of capacitors (32) therein. A holding shell (36) is inserted into the housing (12) to protectively retain the capacitors (32) in the corresponding apertures (28), respectively. An internal shield (50) is inserted into the cavity (14) for shielding the housing (12) and cavity (14) and maintaining the holding shell (36) in position in the housing (12).

    Abstract: An Insulation Displacement Contact Connector (10) includes a housing (12) with a plurality of contacts (16) therein wherein the housing (12) has a mating end (18) and an opposite connection end (22) for respective engagement with a complementary connector and flat cable (100) therewith. Each contact (16) has a mating section (30) adapted to be positioned in the mating end (18) of the connector (10), and an attachment section (32) adapted to be positioned in the connection end (22) of the connector (10). An auxiliary support (52) is securely attached to and substantially disposed within the connection end (22) of the connector (10) for efficiently maintaining the contacts (16) in position especially in the lengthwise direction of the contact (16). A cover (28) is attached to the connection end (22) of the connector (10) wherein the auxiliary support (52)is substantially embedded within the housing (12) and covered by the cover (28).

    Abstract: A terminator includes a housing with a standard dimension in either lengthwise or lateral direction for receiving a plurality of contacts therein. A PC board, which is substantially much larger than the housing in the lateral direction, is attached to the housing wherein the contacts extend through the corresponding holes in the PC board. A protective cover is positioned above the PC board for hermetically shielding the inside PC board wherein such cover can be attached to the PC board through the injection molding process, or can be fastened to the high walls which integrally extend from the housing for surrounding the PC board therein.

    Abstract: A high pin density electrical connector includes an insulation body having a first surface and a second surface, a metal shield mounted to the first surface of the insulation body, having a plate portion and a shaped frame integrally formed on the plate portion to define a circumferentially surrounded space and a plurality of pin members. The insulation body has two recesses formed on the second surface thereof and a plurality of pin receiving holes formed on a central portion thereof, extending from the first surface to the second surface and having a configuration of figure "8" to receive therein the pin members so as to have a flat leading section of each of the pin members extending into the surrounded space of the shield. The pin members have an intermediate section connected to the leading section along a longitudinal direction to engage and secure within the pin receiving holes and a tailing section having a pin leg to electrically connect to a printed circuit board.

Each contact (40) further includes a contact section (44) for engagement with a mating contact of a complementary connector, and a retention section (46) positioned between the contact section (44) and the tail (42) wherein such retention section (46) includes a pair of opposite compliance expansions (47) defining an opening (48) therebetween so that such pair of expansions (47) may abut against the internal walls of the passageway (14) in the housing (12) for retaining the contacts (40) in position in the housing (12).

    Abstract: A high pin density electrical connector includes an insulation body having a first surface and a second surface, a metal shield mounted to the first surface of the insulation body, having a plate portion and a shaped frame mounted to the plate portion to define a circumferentially surrounded space and a plurality of pin members. The insulation body has formed on the second surface thereof two cavities each having two circumferences along which a plurality of pin receiving holes are formed to extend from the first surface to the cavities. A pin support member having two edges along which slots are formed is snugly received within each of the cavities. The pin members are first received and supported within the slots of the pin support members and then extend through the pin receiving holes to be retained therein so as to have a leading section of each of the pin members extend into the surrounded space of the shield.

The retention device (20) includes at the top a box portion (22) having a space to retainably receive the base (14) of the coupling device (12) therein, and a pair of mounting legs (40) extending downward at the bottom for mounting onto the board. The connector (8) has a cavity (92) at the bottom for reception of the box portion (22) of the retention device (20) therein wherein the coupling device (12) and the retention device (20) are axially aligned with each other and extending in the same direction as that of the contacts ( 81) of the connector (8).
